MINKsays...arses i meant to downvote. damn my reflexes.
qualmsays...Speaking of brains: Study finds right-wing brain defective, lacks functionality found in the left-wing brain:

And from an earlier study:
____
Four researchers who culled through 50 years of research literature about the psychology of conservatism report that at the core of political conservatism is the resistance to change and a tolerance for inequality, and that some of the common psychological factors linked to political conservatism include:
* Fear and aggression
* Dogmatism and intolerance of ambiguity
* Uncertainty avoidance
* Need for cognitive closure
* Terror management

MINKsays...that's lovely, qualm! "need for cognitive closure" is a big problem on all sides. when an issue is too complex to keep in one little brain, some people can't stop themselves falling back on hitlerism, or vague hippy stuff and a big bong.
Farhad2000says...Another idiot whose never been to the middle east making generalizations about the middle east.
MINKsays...but he (as he so eloquently reminds himself) is on national tv and has some kind of a duty not to spout shit.
bamdrewsays...last sentence; " And its a pattern in the Middle East, or at least it FEELS that way."
Thats a Colbert quote right there. The Middle East sure FEELS evil... nuke it and lets go get a latte.
MINKsays...lol bamdrew. so true.
"syria reacted by killing 40,000 people. Nuts, huh?"
yeah, like invading iraq was bloodless and in no way "nuts". it just kinda FELT right at the time.
BillOreillysays...unfortunately, he speaks the truth, the middle east only understands "kill or be killed", it will never change, it's been that way for thousands of years, anyone who thinks differently is either deluding themselves or has no sense of history...
MINKsays...lol bill! bit late here aren't you?
of course, europeans and north americans have NEVER had an attitude of "kill or be killed". i see what you are saying.
Fadesays...Is that a new BillOreilly?
moodoniasays...Yikes, I hope our American friends realise their pundit guys like this are seen all over the world. So next time your wondering why the USA has an image problem...
Rottysays...Yes, we haven't quite got to the point of cutting of hands and stoning women to death yet for their action or opinions...
conansays...interesting enough he suggests killing millions of people because he dislikes their government. and maybe he has a point in this dislinking, but nevertheless it basically is the same as if i would suggest "nuking" the us because i dislike their government. and i am pretty convinced you could also find some reasons for that as well (like fighting an illegal war etc.).
i appreciate open minded discussions and i also welcome "other" opinions, but suggesting to kill at least tenthousands of innocent people is not an opinion but plain stupid, ignorant and whatsoever.
MINKsays...rotty, is that the best you can do?
we might be warmongering genocidal maniacs but at least we don't stone women to death?
we just use carpet bombs, right?
rougysays...Glenn Beck is proof positive that there is no such thing as unbiased, "free market" news.
He's a fucking moron, even stupider than O'Reilly - and that's dumb.
moodoniasays...Hi Rotty, Well thats really not my point, I wouldnt suggest those actions or suggest judging yourself based on some other people doing worse. I always hear in the media "Why do they hate us?". I would submit that these well paid, prominent pundits are part of the reason. Sane people elsewhere listen to this and think "what the hell? Do people over there really think that?"
conansays...moodonia is right. for the same reason newspapers love to show catastrophes on page 1, non-us media catches on guys like him. you really have to think about what people's opinion will be if they only see shit like this. this us-bashing has only become so popular because most of the world only sees this kind of stuff when they see us media.
and rotty, please: it also works exactly the other way round. if the only thing the us people see of the middle east is those "terrorist" palestinians, bin Ladin with his hat and beard holding a gun and so on naturally they start to believe in crap like sharia (hand cutting and stoning) being the law in any middle east countries.
it's only prejudices, all over the world. humanity will blow this place up just out of ignorance. so sad.
BillOreillysays..."Is that a new BillOreilly?"
Nope, same ol' me, trying to shine the light of truth in a broken and dying world.
"Yikes, I hope our American friends realise their pundit guys like this are seen all over the world. So next time your wondering why the USA has an image problem..."
Yeah, I'm sure the average middle easterner watches american political cable shows every night. The Taliban is a big fan of media, so I hear...
"but nevertheless it basically is the same as if i would suggest "nuking" the us because i dislike their government"
Yeah. Wait... what?
blankfistsays...What a moron.
FishBulbsays...It feels that way? Oh okay, lets kill 'em all.
