I watched and enjoyed the whole roast. George Takei was sure given a hard time by every other presenter. He's come out of the closet recently, apparently. They sure ripped him a new one, but as someone said "I'm sure he'll find a use for it". A great sport- he laughed harder and longer than anyone else there.

I also saw the whole thing, and Takei "killed", as the other comics on the dais might say.
The other comics might've had better (or their own) material, but Takei was the best precisely because it was Mr. Sulu saying these things. Shock value goes a long way at the Friars' Roasts.

Mr. Sulu OMG!!!!! You know I've been a Trek fan all my life and I didn't know Takei was gay.

sfjocko: there is LOTS of history there. Both Takei and Shatner have written tell-all books in which their relationship is reviewed in detail.

Also, I'll answer your comment re: "nsfw" tags.

nsfw tags assume that you can get away with watching something, but if there's profanity (or sex, etc.) then it might raise eyebrows and draw unwanted attention towards you.

They also double as a handy shorthand for "video you don't want to play when there's a small child in the room."

nsfw is just a much easier way of doing that.

Of course, if *you* don't mind a 5-year-old or whatever hearing things like this (or casual swearing), good for you; it's just a function of common courtesy for others who suscribe to this broad standard.

This is very nice. Some jokes are very "lame" but nice, not the less. Safe for work and also for a small child in the room imo. Just because one guy kisses another... *sigh* since when is this profanity?
