YouTube: For most of his adult life, George Takei had to hide his sexuality to protect his career as an actor. He came out when he was 68 years-old and, contrary to his fears, his work and his life have since blossomed.

For those like me that said "what's "stonewall", google helped me out.

I know a couple Stonewall Democrats.

I think it would be cool for the character of Hikaru Sulu to be noticed as gay in the reboots. That'd be a decent nod of respect.

Not some blatant political bullshit, just a "oh, he's gay. Carry on." moment. Like in reality, nothing else has to change.

The cynic in me (about 90%) says he saw which way the wind was blowing, but there's always a chance that he genuinely had a change of heart?

I dunno. Whatever his past mistakes, right now, he supports marriage equality and accepts the reality of climate change. That makes him the most reasonable republican by a wide margin.
