How can he even see what he's doing is my question. Does that thing have cameras or something? I don't see how the guy can see that quarter on the blade of the forklift with how that front end is set up in relation to him.

Yep, me too. I think it's something that youtube is starting to do automatically - slightly cropping the outside of the video to give it room to stabilize.
