Once again, health care reform is a diversionary non-issue-The people here who post an inordinate amount of bullshit news stories of Obama and his mission to distract the public, are out of touch with reality. The real health care issue are the corporations who control the production of food, from the seed cradle, to your grave.

Not sure why you feel the need to pit a healthy diet against a national health care system. Seems like both would be good things. Also, if you are trying to make a persuasive argument, it's not a good idea to poison the well beforehand, by trashing something the people you are trying to persuade hold in high regard. By doing this, you shut down the conversation before it even starts.

I agree with you 100% about all the processed, chemical laden crap that our country has become addicted to: the growth hormone, preservatives, added sugars, etc. ...but eating healthy by itself will not cauterize an open wound, set a broken bone or cure a patient in the early stages of cancer.

False dichotomy.

The trauma care you mentioned above, i.e. the mending of bones, etc., is exactly what I have been touting all along in my posts/comments, and deriding imbeciles with....those who seem to be distracted by the non-issue our new and unimproved puppet president continually litters the goddamn national nightly news(non-news) with, miss my solution to health care reform entirely-Skilled Medics and Surgeons are what the country needs, not mop-up medicine to counter the effects of a life of poor judgment and habits.................

If people would re-learn how to un-eat, and re-think, how their opinions and attention is misshapen, then we would be having a healthy beer and pub lunch, and not be entering into another lesson of how choggie should think, act, or respond on the videosift.

Oh and, you can never be too hard on the developmentally disabled....especially when they seem to have healthy and functional brain pan contents.

this doctor really broke it down.
people really need to watch this if only the first four vids, where the doc goes into bio-chemistry.
we all know that much of our diet is not good for us but it is quite another story when we get to SEE what we are doing to our bodies.
great post chog.

I'm almost done watching this, but I wanna know, does he say ANYTHING that isn't old news? We know, eating fatty is bad. Maybe in 1985 this was news, but this is nutrition 101 these days. I learned it in f*cking high school. Yes, public school even. Everybody knows HOW to eat right. You know that feeling you get after eating a bacon cheese burger, fries and a soda? That's your body telling you what you just ate was shit.

Why nobody can listen to their bodies is remarkable. And I've been through phases where I eat bullshit for a period of time. I get a belly, I slow down, I feel like shit. But I never, once, during the whole time I was doing that to myself, think it was ok. And just as quick as it starts I made the decision to get back on track and eat what I should be eating. The sacrifice isn't even much. Throw in some veggies, buy lean ham, if you're gonna eat red meat. Buy turkey and skinless chicken. Bake, don't fry. Real fucking easy.

Draxsays...

Granted, it's all pretty straight forward stuff, but I personally have never heard anyone go on about how the human body doesn't need dairy products or meat at all, and gets by even better on just plants, especially the calcium bit. Milk plus meat worse then whole grain food for calcium..? News to me at least.

Usually you get all this try to eat a balanced diet of all the crap with some veggies.

It's really difficult to get your essential proteins from plant matter alone. Even whey protein comes from milk. Especially if you're trying to build muscle (or brain) mass.

The real problem with food available in stores today is genetic and bio-engineering. Monsanto is the worst, others not as large follow, as laws are made to accommodate their monster corporate interests. The big M created and legislated the use of bovine growth hormones.

Their lawyers have successfully destroyed heirloom seed availability to the public as well as farmers whose families for generations provided food for this country and the world. They are trying to patent the fucking pig as well-their empire is insidious and deadly to our present health and state of being and our futures.

This country does not need health care reform-It needs to eliminate insurance companies and destroy Monsanto. Back to basics, monkeys.

I'm weary of the idea that bio-engineered foods are a bad thing. In fact, they allow the production of foods in conditions that aren't ideal for food growth or they maximize production in limited spaces. I am, of course, referring to produce. Animals might be a different story, but I really don't know.

Overall I'd say that bio-engineering has saved lives.

Look up Norman Borlaug.

Monsanto engineers crops/animals to make their intellectual property and products a more-efficient baton to brutalize humanity with. I'm not saying bio-engineered foods are bad either, it just depends on what you do with them.

Smugglarnsays...

There is nothing wrong with genetic engineering - to say otherwise is ignorant. Monsanto may be a shit company with megalomanic intentions but do not confuse that with the science of bio-engeneering. It's the future.

What the guy says sounds reasonable but I think nowadays people would take issue with some parts of his message. Namely the LCHF crowd who so far eat lots of meat and rich sauces and are very healthy (again, so far).

There is a certain evil in designing plants that cannot reproduce and then shoving them down the throats of countries who are too poor to defend themselves from such a hideous attack.

It's worse than pushing heroin.

To design plants that people must grow in order to survive, and then forcing them to buy the seeds of those plants on an annual basis, is just...satanic.

Remembering the film Food Inc., where Monsanto was suing farmers whose land was inadvertently contaminated with genetic seeds, just made my blood run cold.

What Monsanto is doing goes far beyond the profit motive.

But the plant themselves are not "evil". Take "Golden Rice" for example, which can save millions of lives. But only if the eco-fundamentalists are shut down.

There is nothing perfect in nature. There is nothing holy. If that is your opinion, you're nothing better than the loonies who pray to burning bushes.

rougysays...

@Smugglarn, you must be on the payroll.

No, there is nothing perfect in nature, but more often than not, it comes a hell of a lot closer to perfection than some jackoffs in a lab can get.

The GM thing isn't the problem.

The problem is flooding markets with that seed, under cost, and driving out the natural indigenous alternatives that had grown in a given region for centuries, and then charging people exorbitant prices for seed that, before, people could set aside themselves.

enochsays...

the green explosion has definately saved lives and helped feed a growing population.
so on that note i agree with rottenseed.GM produce that needs less water and can reproduce under harsh conditions and still yield a prosperous harvest is always a good thing.there is a trade off though and many times that trade of is nutritional content and sadly..flavor.
when is the last time you had a tomato that actually TASTED like a tomato?
but as of now there has been no evidence that GM produce is bad for us with the exception of certain corns and grains(thanks monsanto fuckheads)which were spliced with toxic bacteria to kill certain pests.now grant you...this corn and grain is for animal feed but WHO ends up EATING the fucking animals?
seewhatimsayin?
as for hormone laden poultry/beef and pork.well if you think that is fine then you have no clue what hormones job is concerning, well, just about every system in your body.so one day if you wake up with a nice pair of titties dont come cryin to me.
and smugglarn i think you are missing the point.nobody is saying that plants are evil, nor is anybody here worshipping them.so your argument is pretty lame and if you think creating a plant gene that kills itself right before germination or seeds that will only germinate if sprayed with a certain toxic pest repellant is okie dokie.well then my friend i think it may be you who suffers from a mild case of ignorance.

lets remember that agriculture was the very first thing man learned to begin his climb towards civilizations and when huge agro-business attempts to discard 10,000 years of cultural learning, disciplines and knowledge.passed down through the generations.humanity has actually changed many plant life to his own purpose..forced evolution.to give an example:mexico has 180 species of maize(corn),america has?----4.
why?huge multi-national conglomerates who dominate the food markets.it is not farmer joe down the street who gets 3 million is subsidies but rather general mills.so much of the trouble is really with geo-politics and corporate malfeasance and absolutely nothing to do with plants being "good" or "evil".

all this doctor was doing was presenting pretty plain and simple facts and had slides to shock us.
which is a very effective tool.message?
know what the fuck you are putting into your body..pretty simple message.it is your choice to listen or disregard.
and just a side note:for those atkins diet lovers.if you had any idea what that diet does to your kidneys and liver after three weeks you would never go on that diet....ever.
and monsanto is EVIL....no really..they are fucking evil.

MaxWildersays...

This is old news for many, but I've never seen a better presented argument for veganism. I've had a feeling for a long time that human society is headed that direction, even though I can't quite give up meat myself. It's just so tasty!

rottenseedsays...

I never saw the film Food, inc. I'm just learning from your guys' comments that there is a company, Monsanto, that's seeds are somehow making it impossible to grow indigenous produce? Can somebody explain???

rougysays...

@rottenseed, there are numerous cases of Monsanto doing some really shitty things.

An estimated 17,000 cotton farmers in India killed themselves because they could no longer afford the Monsanto seed that they had been cajoled into buying. That's pretty recent.

A guy in Canada is getting sued because Monsanto found some of its seed in his field. They've done that to a lot of people in the USA and all over the world.

Bremer passed a rule in Iraq that forced people to pay for Monsanto seed, and they go to great lengths to make sure that the Iraqi's have little or no choice in the matter.

I think it was in Burma or some SE Asian country where they flooded the marked with a new kind of rice that was genetically designed not to reproduce. As a result, people are starving and going broke, because the seed that was native to the area is now largely gone if not completely.

Monsanto is basically trying to corner the market on the world's food supply.

They are literally trying to make it so that everyone in the world has to pay them if they want to grow food.

They are sinister sons of bitches, and I've only touched on the tip of the iceberg.
