Xaxsays...Alright, so now that the spoiler warning is in full-effect...
The finale was very disappointing for me. The ultimate answer seemed to be, “God did it.” I was thoroughly unsatisfied with various things: Kara’s revelation and her end, everyone splitting up and going their own way (which just doesn’t ring true at all), no real explanation as to why Hera was so important, the abandonment of technology, the last few minutes... I could go on, but those are the big ones.
A terribly disappointing end to an incredible television series. It left me in a melancholy limbo all day yesterday.
BreaksTheEarthsays...I wholeheartedly agree. They could have gone in so many more interesting directions, but instead settled on the tired "Robots will take over the world one day, watch out!" theme.
Lazy writing.

In a few words: pure shit.
maximilliansays...Agree with all the above. The abandonment of technology was stupid? So they managed to convince 39K people to do away with basic technological advances and lifestyle to become farmers and hunters. Yeah right. And, technology is not the evil here, it's just the enabler. It has always been what man does with technology that is evil.
Poor writing and a big let down. At least it ended without being canceled though. There are still some many, short, and good scenes though.
Sagemindsays...I don't think it would have mattered how they ended it, no one would have aproved. It's the same as the first series, the story just becomes too big with too many posibilities. Everyone has their own idea of where it should have gone.
At least this time they didn't have them finding earth and having to keep it a secret from the cylons - they just didn't know how to end that one either.
I think the best ending was to skip the ending and flash forward leaving us to all create our own stories as to what happened inbetween.
Xaxsays...I think they could've ended it in a more universally-satisfying way than they did. Ultimately, I think the writers painted themselves into multiple corners, without a plan or a vision for what they had written, and that's what really screwed things up. Sort of like how I expect Lost will end, but who knows.
Zifnabsays..."All of this has happened before. Does all of this have to happen again?"
The answer is Skynet!
antsays...I like the first hour, but the after that was a bit slow.
siftbotsays...RTFLMFRAO @ 5:06 - 5:33
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'tags withheld' to 'ending, last, spoiler, god did it, frak, angels, fecal matter' - edited by gwiz665
Numinarsays...I was pretty happy with the ending, it would have been nicer without the manipulative super being(s) running the scene like something out of RAMA, but the seeds for that plot device/cop out had been in the show since the begining.
I think it was a pretty good send off for all characters and as for the abandon all tech stuff, well, maybe it was partially out of respect for us/our ancestors? Kinda like a spontaneous prime directive moment that everyone bought into after thinking about the utter cluster?§$& the last few years had been and how much of it had been their own doing? And maybe after being basically imprisoned in crappy spaceships never designed for long term habitation everyone wanted a nice slice of nature pie.
Gotta use your imagination to fill in the gaps, TV can never do this escapist stuff on it's own y'know!
