Female High School Kicker Hits Like A Girl

A female high school kicker puts a vicious hit on a player on the opposing team.

That just made my year! Gives me goosebumps every replay. You can see that he realizes he's about to be blasted right before it happens. She cut him off with a good angle from the middle of the field and really committed to the hit. Because she lowered her shoulder instead of trying to just wrap him up she got him good and kinda sent him flying out of bounds. The guy going "oh hoo hoo hoo hoo!" really rounds the video out nicely. I bet both teams have watched this video a million times each

I'm happy to see the concept of male only sports dying off.

At the same time it's sad, after all we know about the long term effects of repeated concussions, to see adults encouraging teenagers to slowly give each other brain damage.

I know it's traditional and fun, but burying your head in the sand over this reality is a failure as a parent or teacher. Also, just another terrible idea about what to do with your head.

Why are you happy for that? What is achieved by integrating some sports?

Think of it in the opposite sense. Women only sport is there because in general, for most sports, men have a distinct advantage and need to be removed from women's sport to level the playing field.

now I'm curious, which sports are the ones where women perform better than men?

I was afraid I wasn't being clear, having separate leagues is fine and needed at a professional level. As long as girls aren't being pointlessly excluded at schools that's no problem.

What I meant by male only sports was those where women are never expected to play, even between among themselves. Football seems to be one of those last remnants. . . of course it could also be that there generally aren't enough women who give a damn about it to make up two teams.

Got ya.

I agree.

Another interesting phenomenon is the sexualisation of female athletes. I.e. to be taken "seriously" in a sporting magazine a female will be pressured to do a scantily clad photo shoot, whilst the men will not be be.

Better? I'm not sure.

Sports where the advantage men have is diminished (which is what I meant): some non-contact sports (e.g. netball), shooting, lawn bowls (which is quite fun), dresage, etc. There is still a difference at high levels, but in casual play the difference is largely insignificant.
