Erlich. Turns out he's a pretty bad bloke in real life.

He was accused of assaulting his then-girlfriend in college. There's also a bunch of stories from various people (including the creator of Silicon Vallet, Mike Judge) about how he was just a nightmare to work with.

TBF, none of that is proven... but he was DEFINITELY in Transformers, and I just can't forgive shit like that.

C-notesaid:

Which one is TJ Miller?

@ChaosEngine -- Meh, I don't care except to the extent that any actual assholery prevents or negatively influences future media with him in it. (Which to be fair sounds like it has actually happened...)

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to watch Mel Gibson and Weinstein movies, Louis CK standup, and reruns of the Cosby Show.

Personally, the only one I care about is Weinstein, because he indirectly had a hand in some of my favourite movies.

Gibson, meh... I can happily go the rest of my life without seeing anything he's done again.

Louis CK is a comic genius, but I won't be giving him any more money and Cosby....well, you're perfectly entitled to do that... although why you'd want to submit yourself to actually watching the Cosby show is beyond me. Either way, it won't do Bill any good while he's dying in a prison cell.

@ChaosEngine --

I was mostly just being facetious. Although I do think that "blissful ignorance" is a fine approach when it comes to appreciating media / art / whatever. As such, I'd rather ignore any of the behind-the-scenes stuff and evaluate such works strictly in their own right.

I think that works well (for me at least) for existing, completed stuff. But it is honestly a shame when that behind-the-scenes stuff gets in the way of expansions, follow-ups, or graceful conclusions to the good stuff that came before. Doesn't mean I will enjoy the good earlier works any less, though.
