Too right. I can deal with professional opinionists, who formulate their opinions with some sense of knowledge about the subject and talent in the delivery, but listening to the "guy on the street" or the "next caller" just makes me change the channel. I wish they'd stop that crap. It's just filler because they don't want to have to think up another subject to talk about.

Agreed, this is one of my many pet peeves. I was watching the news today and they were talking about the "top story" which ws the federal (Canadian) government announcing the details of the budget later in the day. Because it hadn't actually been announced it yet and they didn't have an actual story they went into a fucking bar and asked some random dude what he though the government should do. Gah!
