Digital/Analog clock

This clock, designed by Rhode Island School of Design student Alvin Aronson, uses an analog mechanism to replicate the numbers on a digital clock’s LCD. The transition from minute to minute is beautiful.

Neat I guess, but it's more of a "slow digital" transition than a real analog one. Not that you'd want that to really be analog - it would be hard to tell what time it is halfway through a minute when the "coming up" and the "coming down" pieces would be at the same level.
