I'm not even an American however the thought that this woman will be in such a seat of power as the VP of the US and possibly the ultimate seat of power scares the hell out of me. I think it is fair to say this is an undeniable display that this processes is not only broken but backwards as the most unqualified individual the country has to offer can get elected into the highest seat of power, embarrassing!!!

I've heard this lowered expectations idea batted around a lot the past few days. I'm expecting both debaters on stage to demonstrate that they would be capable of leading the most powerful nation on earth. I just know that one of them is so deliciously going to disappoint me. I hope they ask her what she thinks about the bailout.

She honestly does sound a lot more rational when you hear her past sound bites, but she's clearly confused about the moment of conception, and simply saying that she wouldn't want to send someone to jail for getting an abortion doesn't imply she'll keep it legal. She does certainly come off as far more reasonable and moderate with her positions on teaching creationism, and gay rights, but then she may simply be feigning those kind of views to bring in the independent and swing Democrats when she knows she has the religious right wing in the bag.

The woman doesn’t have a clue. It’s pretty obvious that most of her answers are rehearsed (if asked the question again, she’ll simply repeat the first answer). Look at her getting confused with the climate change question: it’s not enterily man-made, I’m not going to blame anybody, but we have to do something. Yeah, if it’s not man-made and if you don’t believe in the forces of nature climate change is God-made, oops.... And then she tells us that her best friend is not her gay friend, but a friend who happens to have "made the choice" to be gay.
