I'd have to see the numbers before I could judge anything. It's possible that they were paid primarily through bonuses, such that their actual salaries are quite low. Unlikely, perhaps? But still possible.

After all the bullshit I've seen in the world, the only conclusion I am willing to jump to is that I don't have all the information, and the news is full of shit.
