Before Chris Matthews is able to own anyone on this topic, he should first learn what evolution actually is. If he knew that, he'd be able to tell this fellow that a) evolution contains no declaration about the creation of life and b) evolution does not claim that any one species turns into another.

I upvoted this because of the political debate, but I agree that we need a better representative to debate the lack of scientific merits to "intelligent design." Tancredo spouted so many false claims that Matthews could have challenged, but he probably didn't even know they were falsehoods. I'm no biologist, but even I could have called out Tancredo on half his bullshit.

Yeah, I wouldn't exactly call this "owning", unless "owning" means giggling like a couple of little Catholic schoolboys. I like Matthews, but both of these guys are clueless about both evolution and ID. To say that ID'ers are "well respected", or that there's "nothing to argue about" between ID or evolution, or that ID "should be taught in school", is all kinds of nonsense.

These arguments are so tired and disproved everywhere. There is no big controversy amongst the scientists community, the two theories are not equal just because a lot of ignorant people want one to be true.
