Chatting with Chimps (BBC)

Kanzi appears to be able to communicate using an image based touch screen. Did he understand the presenter's invitation to play?

Kanzi is more amazing than you might think just from seeing these videos. I recently had a series of lectures on animal cognition, and Kanzi is the star when it comes to language. Alex the parrot was also pretty special, but has sadly died. Apparently his successor, Einstein, has already surpassed him.

to his last comment, i don't think that is a good idea. Chimps are like humans, stubborn, strong, and dense humans. Look, the bonobo is almost the same size as him, and probably 20x as strong. 2-3000 years down the road we start letting them out of the cages, along with 6 foot full size chimpanzees, (that are more aggressive then horny unlike those lil guys), and planet of the apes doesn't seem far off.
