My guess is that somehere, about halfway up, there was some steel reinforcement not accounted for. And yeah, Firefly, I bet someone got canned for this too (that building became dangrerous because of the bad job they did).

I was told this was the tallest building in South Dakota.

...and it probably still is!

I dont think the problem was too little explosives, but too much, judging from the angle it landed, the intent was probably to make it fall over, but all sides seemed to crumble.. If the intend was implosion, they'd have wired it all the way up, which seems unlikely because the place seems pretty desolate.

Answer to how to take care of the rest of the building. I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
