My impression was that he was not used to public speaking and the sudden attention he got from holding the mike brought out alot of emotional tension he was holding...his love of the wrestlers wasn't what was making him cry.

I know this guy personally. He is a former small time wrester and lifetime fan. Terry Funk (the dark haired older wrester) had just gotten done talking about how many performers permanently cripple and kill themselves in the very dangerous lifestyle of fake wrestling. He got emotional talking about his friends and heroes dying prematurely.
