6 Seconds of Concentrated Silly. This is not the Wilhelm Scream, but the other (more ludicrious) stock scream used by so many :)

Only a Mountain Dew commercial can be eXtreme enough to warrent that kind of scream. The sample is from a 20 year old commercial sound library and it is almost always a poor choice in movies, tv ads, radio ads, and video games.

Not sure about Starcraft. I know it was the death scream (when your character died) in one of the very first online RPG's called Meridian 59.

I remember this in starcraft as well

Its a bit like the classic "Doom Door" in Doom, that sound was used in so many places!
