budzosIn my movie-watching experience, 1993 has got to be the worst year next to 1992.
For some reason I got a nostalgia impulse a few months ago and decided to watch this entire film in "high quality" on YT. I had to skip a lot of it, so much that it took me less than 45 minutes to watch the whole thing. God what a piece of shit of a film, but as a cultural relic this is absolutely fascinating. Such a classic example of Hollywood not getting it, taking a property and sucking all the life out of it to the point it might as well be called something else. Back when game-to-movie was quite novel.. in fact I'm thinking this is pretty much the first game to movie translation?
Think about the job they could do with this in 2009. I for one would like to see a new live-action Mario Bros. movie.

And it really seem to be the second game to movie adaptation if you trust this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_video_games . Funny thing is that it was another Super Mario movie that came before this one, a japanese one.

Yes, it's an awful AWFUL movie.
EDD^I haven't a clue what you're talking about - here's why the Super Mario Bros. movie is an underappreciated masterpiece.
While I would never say it's a good movie, it's most definitely not a case of "Hollywood not getting it". In fact, it stayed a lot truer to the game than almost any other game-to-movie translations (see above link for a list of references).
budzosNo, it didn't. Don't need your stupid list to see that!
