Begala on CNN: Bush is a "High-Functioning Moron"

On Anderson Cooper 360, Paul Begala, after saying "I'm going to get in trouble," calls President Bush a "high-functioning moron."

Begala has not backed down from his statement, saying "I mean it, I meant it, and I'm getting a huge amount of positive feedback from it."

Begala is a tool, but in this case he's simply saying out loud and on national TV what 70% of Americans already know. I'm glad he said it, but I wish he, along with others, had said it LOUDLY and OFTEN when it would have made a difference, like 4 or 8 years ago.

When you've graduated from Harvard Business School, let me know how smart you are. And figured out how to fly an F-102...piece of cake for you, I'm sure.

Now I agree he sometimes sounds retarded, but it's obvious, if you look at the facts, that he is highly intelligent.

If my dad was a US senator, I think that graduating from Harvard B school wouldn't be very difficult. Graduating from B school is easy, it's getting in to a good one that is hard, for most people...

You're not serious, right?

Dude, even his old professors at Harvard thought he was a moron:

"His former Harvard Business School professor recalls George W. Bush not just as a terrible student but as spoiled, loutish and a pathological liar."

"And he was such a bad student that I asked him once how he got in. He said, 'My dad has good friends.'" Bush scored in the lowest 10 percent of the class."

I'm not basing my view on his carefully-constructed biography, I'm basing my view on his (and the rest of his hand-picked administration's) continuing inability or refusal to do the right thing, regardless of the consequences.

Perhaps he does have a speciality or two, but this does prove his competence otherwise.

Flying a plane is not a million times harder than driving a car. I mean look at some of the absolute morons who still manage to drive a car, then imagine yourself, after intensive training, flying a plane. it's not so hard really. I flew a plane when i was a kid in high school.

Flying it in Vietnam would be a different matter. *cough*

It's perfectly conceivable that someone with that kind of father could graduate any damn school he likes, without being competent or passing the required exams properly.
