H0Jusays...I've only ever seen this movie once, and it was while playing back the RiffTrax audio stream at the same time. Damn, what a bad movie! The RiffTrax helped.
doremifasays...I paid for a different movie and saw this one instead - I was curious and didn't want to give my money to Scientology.
I do not think Travolta's career is dead. The same goes for Tom Cruise.
v1k1n6says...Ha I didn't realize this movie was about scientology until two weeks ago. Weirdos.
Cronyxsays...I thought it was alright. It doesn't have anything to do with Scientology though. The movie Battlefield Earth is based on some of L. Ron Hubbard's earlier works. Granted, Hubbard is also the founder of Scientology (which is just crazy), but the two have nothing to do with eachother. Being a scifi author, he wrote the stories that were the basis for Battlefield Earth well before Dianetics. So, what does Battlefield Earth and Scientology have to do with eachother? Except for the fact that they were authored by the same person, nothing.
Just to clarify:
Scientology is laughable.
L. Ron Hubbard was a conman (but a pretty good one considering how much money he made off lying to people).
I didn't think Battlefield Earth was such a bad movie.
Kruposays...This would be published if not for the downvotes, let's *save the new user's video so he has a chance of glorious non-probationary membership.
That haughty writing was, nevertheless, better than the crappy acting just shared for our mocking-pleasure.
siftbotsays...Saving this video from queue deletion, sending it to the top of the queue for one more try. Originally submitted on Tuesday 26th June 2007 (save called by gold star member Krupo)
harrysays...The scene transitions in this movie are standard left-to-right 'fades'. They are now known as 'retard fades' among friends.
k8_fansays...And of course this is the only film ever made where every single scene is a "Dutch angle" (tilted camera). The Scientology connection is that a person would need their mind completely scrambled by Scientology to believe that making this film would be a good idea. Both Travolta and Cruise have sons named after characters in Hubbard's fiction.
gorgonheapsays...*terrible because: Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 is a 2000 film adaptation of the novel of the same name by L. Ron Hubbard. The film is produced by and stars John Travolta. It was a notorious commercial and critical disaster and has been widely criticized as one of the "worst films ever made"

siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Terrible) - requested by gorgonheap.
budzossays...The dutch angle thing is completely draining, as is the ridiculous use of a heavy green or blue filter during most of the slow-mo action scenes.
Zonbiesays...Isn't Battlefail Earth *Cult promoting concentrated fail?
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Cult) - requested by Zonbie.
