squat toilets are very common in Asia. Especially as public toilets. When I was in Japan, I avoided public #2s when I could. Although I've been told that they are much more healthy than a standard toilet in that it's the natural squatting posture that humans are supposed to use when defecating. Low hemmoroids levels in Asia.

Where were you in Japan, Dag? I stayed in Kitakyushu. You know one of the apts I had while I lived there had one of these squat toilets. It was damn cold bathroom too!

I lived near Shinsaibashi in Osaka for 3 years. It's a great place - I was living out my cyberpunk fantasies. ;-)

It's funny that their toilets go the extreme of a hole in the ground to warm vibrating, furry with gentle water washing your oshiri.

I wonder if these people got cash in exchange for signing waivers... or if they even had to sign a waiver? Wonder what the rules are like over there?

Many parts of Europe, mind you, also have the squatters - an action, I hear, which is common even among ladies in the West, so go figure.
