Apart from pissing off the religious of the community and telling other non-believers they are not alone, what is the point? It seems like a waste of money to me. They would be much better served giving me the money instead.

"Is it coincidental?"

Of course it's not! Anything done by people is not coincidental. Good on them. I think it's money well spent, if nothing to challenge the perceived authority of religions and priests.

That's right, freedom of speech goes both ways. Funny how people seem to have more of a problem with this than Neo-Nazis or the KKK however. If you really believe in what you says you believe in...this should not shake you to your core.

Maybe it's time to rethink?

I'm sorry, these billboards are just as stupid and obnoxious as the religious ones. I find it so incredibly annoying when religious people are so insecure that they have to tell everybody about their faith, and it seems that atheists in America have adopted that trait.

The one saying "Keep religion out of government" is fine, though.

I love how the reporter has to explain that "Praise God" is a common phrase, and mention that Darwin was a scientist. It's like they've gone beyond writing for idiots, to people who have never been on this planet before.

As an atheist, I don't particularly enjoy my belief being referred to as "a non-belief". Nor do I appreciate being referred to as a non-believer. I believe, very strongly in fact, that there are no gods.

But at this point, I'm really just picking nits.

I like these billboards, too bad I live in the bible belt where you'll never see these, instead we get anti-abortion and bible verse billboards.

The woman's comment about how "...you raise your children to believe something a billboard isn't going to change that..." really bothers me. It illustrates exactly why I have such an udder disgust of religions. Commanding a child to believe what you tell them before they even have the capability to think rationally about anything is child abuse pure and simple.
