I really don't get the attraction of the book... ok, I get the attraction of the concept of the book, and for the first, I think, half of it I was with it, but it just keeps hammering home the same thing over and over and bloody over again... gets very tired. I gave up reading it through shear boredom.

I really did like it to begin with, and while the violence was a little over the top, that was kinda the point, but man, I was reading it going 'I got it for god's sake, I bloody got it, move on you boring writer you' (because I often talk to my books).

The movie wasn't bad all around but it completely failed conveying the main conceit. It seems hints unintentionally at the fact that he imagined all the killings but in actual fact the main point it was trying to make was everyone was too self-absorbed and oblivious to notice and everything we saw did happen.

I love the movie and the book.

I liked that the movie took a different angle regarding whether or not Bateman actually killed anyone, especially because it leaves you wondering if he did or not (after the phone call at the end).

Reading it changed the way I looked at the world in a major way.. I can't say that about many other novels.
