Tymbrwulfsays...Quad crossfire 5870's with an i7 980x... impressive rig! I wonder what kind of cooling he uses.
Unfortunately, I'm disappointed with his theme. Stock windows start menu... with that kind of rig? Really?
With all the time he spent on the rest of the build and aesthetics, he's still using the default start menu... That completely takes away from the rest of the theme.
kceaton1says...I'm guessing Deskscapes + Windowblinds... (The Star Trek stuff is already on Deskscapes, which allows for moving backgrounds. Then use Windowblinds for all the rest.) I could do the same thing, but mine only runs on a 40" LED Samsung (for 3D usage, nVidia, etc...).
Those moving backgrounds are actually very low on the CPU usage side and they also pause and unload when you go fullscreen into anything. They restart FAST. It's pretty fun, plus you can make your own. To tell you the truth the Star Trek one is OK, but there are others that are amazing and must have taken quite some time to make.
RFlaggsays...I have often wondered why Microsoft hasn't enabled animated backgrounds into Windows itself. Especially if it is pre-rendered, though some real time stuff I have thought would be cool too... take a beach with the water lapping at the shore, then the sky changes with the time of day... or even with the weather outside. The real time ones would be perhaps too much for core systems, but for the power users it would be cool.
antsays...I wonder how the usability. I prefer to use an non-interactive screen saver: http://www.mewho.com/system47/ to show off.
jiyanibisays...Applying the video's wallpaper and Ant's screensaver, I think I'm having a full-blown Trek-gasm! SQUEEEEE!!!
pho3n1xsays...@RFlagg they did in vista, and the availability for it is still there in win7, called DreamScene. I think they technically scrapped the project, but if you do a google search for "DreamScene" you'll find a lot of stuff on how to enable it for both Vista and 7.

Also, LCARSx32 is pretty nice, although I'm pretty sure they stopped developing it. Voice recognition and all.
