Alien:Covenant / The Crossing

The Crossing, an official prologue short to Alien: Covenant, reveals what happened to crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the synthetic David after the events of Prometheus. Set aboard an abandoned Engineer vessel, Dr. Shaw repairs David as they continue their search for humanity’s creators.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

That 2:41 was so much better the entirety of whatever fucking nonsense Prometheus was trying to call a plot.

Is this a teaser for the short?
And will the short play before the movie in theaters?

I'm completely out of the loop on this one.

ChaosEngine, I recommend checking out the fanedit called "Prometheus: Giftbearer". It incorporates deleted and alternate scenes into the film. It brings much better clarity to the story. The original version was ambiguous to a fault.

I haven't watched it in a few years, but I believe so. If you do a Google search and go to the Fanedit.org website page for the edit, you can see all the changes made. Though I would just recommend watching it and experiencing the changes that way.
