80's Cartoon Intro Overload!

budzossays...

Galaxy Rangers was cool. It was an original IP not licensed from a toy line, and had some of the best-looking animation produced for TV in the 80's. It was also written better than most other cartoons of the time, which is not saying much.

I wish I still had that M.A.S.K. motorcycle/helicopter toy. That was rad! Probably back home in my parent's attic. I don't know if I completely agree with this as a top 10 list, but good stuff! Though, I didn't some of these back in Toledo either.

I too was waiting for Silverhawks.

I actually had many toys from alot of those cartoons, I had some Visionaries, had afew mask toys (the jeep/boat and the ATV with the saw thing in front. I also had Wheel Warriors. I remember the plant bad guys, I had that big walker. God I was spoiled.

Also, no Centurions?!?

I used to draw Galaxy Rangers fighters in class. Totaly the best of the lot, and the first to use computer gfx. Goose rocked. I was shocked to see Jade was #1 let alone included at all, that show sucked... they coulda at least put on thundercats, or Master of the Universe, or Cities of gold, or the best of all the "chcicha ah" xformers start.

Trippy.

"Lizards" from outerspace is what some people have been saying for years.

The scene with the four horsemen also made me scratch my head.

Probably random symbolism.

I remember "Aqua Boy" from the 60's and I often wondered what impact that had on the acid generation. He would eat "aqua gum" and be able to breathe under water.

I think that...somebody figured out quite a while ago that cartoons are a sneaky way to influence children in ways that would last to adulthood.
