Lagaan: The film that taught me the rules of cricket and of love
This movie is friggin' awesome. If you've ever got 4 hours to kill (a rainy Saturday afternoon for me), you should rent this movie. I'm serious - it kicks ass.
Fiona Apple - "Not About Love" (with Zach Galifianakis)
Kudos to Fiona Apple. I had been worried that she had gotten too full of herself, but I'm pleased to see that she still has a sense of humor. Gotta love the insanely funny Zach Galifianakis (who's quite a good piano player himself).
Also, thank god that it appears Fiona has had a sandwich or two and no longer looks like Kate Moss after a bad weekend.
Legend of Zelda theme on a theremin
Haven't seen a theremin before? It's the high point of electronic music geekdom. Invented in 1919 by Léon Theremin, the theremin works with a series of antennas - you play it by moving your hands closer and farther from the two antennas to change the pitch and volume. It's similar in theory to how your TV antenna (for those of you old enough to remember TV antennas) works better if you move your hand closer to it.
The theremin entered into pop culture when it was used to make that weird "oo" solo in the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" (you know which one I'm talking about).
(Information courtesy of my sick little brain and Wikipedia.)
Here's a clip of Léon Theremin playing his own instrument in 1928. (The tune, if you care, is "The Swan" by Camille Saint-Saëns.)

The Internet is Serious Business (chat room nerd declares WAR!)
"You're probably wondering why I'm dressed up like this..."
Oh yeah, the size 3X short-sleeved button-down and Space Invaders tie says "class".
Wait, what? "continue to preach Christ"? Who IS this guy?
Rube Goldberg - amazing.. alarm clock, washes clothes, cooks
Agreed BNSA -- an excellent showcase of the fine theme music of Alan Silvestri!
I quite enjoyed the way the egg (?) picked up the greens on its way to the soup.
Penalty shot stopped (:10)
Very snazzy, oohahh. Learn something new every day.
I always wondered, actually, why they call American Football "football". After all, it's really only the punter who uses his foot. The rest of the guys just carry the damn ball around. It's more like "homoerotic catch".
My Client Wants ... (Want a Good Laugh? - Watch!)
It's worth pointing out that this was written and directed by Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman of "Ghostbusters" fame. This short is from 2004, and got him a lot of buzz. Since then, he directed the feature film "Thank You For Smoking", and has another film coming out next year.
As a law student, I think this is one of the funniest freakin' things I've ever seen.
mozart on rollerblades
That rocks -- the amount of preparation that went into that must be staggering.
Zero Gravity Cat
ok that is truly the funniest and most cruel thing I've ever seen.
