Doh! Yeah, you just reminded me: I'm probably totally out of line ranting like I am on a blogged post. I mistakenly went off ranting thinking this was a general discussion. Feel free to ignore everything I've said, because I haven't yet seen the video.

Yeah, that's how I view NSFW: you don't want to be cranking it, on a widescreen TV, with 3 year-olds, or church-mums, around. But there is another level in my mind: something that could cripple a grown man for weeks because of how fucked up it is (e.g. the old ogrish.com type stuff).

Thanks for the heads-up snipe. I hate accidentally seeing brutal, grotesque stuff. At times, I don't mind it, but only when I'm "in the mood" for it, if ever.

I think "snuff-ish" type stuff, and animal cruelty, should be label-able separately / additionally from NSFW stuff, as they're generally only something you've got to be in the right frame of mind to 'want' to see.

Personally, I don't mind most of the stuff people flag as NSFW (I actually like most of it), but I do hate accidentally seeing baby seals clubbed, peoples' limbs broken, etc. There's a difference between NSFW and just plain fucking gross.

Perhaps there might be a reason for a self-imposed "cruel / absolutely disgusting / despicable" tag?
