Congress Considering Law To Make Copyright Violations Felony

I'm reminded of the 17-year old kid they sent to jail for 10 years for getting a blow job from a 15 year old girl.

Our government can't possibly make a stupider law than that?

Maybe.

The Commerical Felony Streaming Act. Would target people who uploaded $2500 of copyrighted material with a 5 year sentence.

So if you share "Adobe Photoshop" with 10 of your pirate buddies, you're going to be gargling mayo with new peeps from prison for 5 years.

O.K. I know I'm getting hysterical. But someone should make some noise, shouldn't they?

TL;DR: U.S. Senate trying to pass new law to make uploading $2500 of unlicensed copyrighted a FELONY.
rougy says...

This smacks of the "ownership society" where somebody owns everything and there are no common grounds.

It's preposterous and doomed, since all progress is rested upon the shoulders of those who have gone before us.

Greedy backstabbing pigs...pardon my willful tourettes.
