Most Insane Footage Yet From The China Explosion

lucky760 says...

Nah, I have pretty solid confidence I would never react to a disaster with jubilation. I've witnessed some hairy shit in my life (nothing this massive of course), but I've never reacted by prancing about just absolutely tickled pink with joy.

Speaking of other videos, how many of the other people who caught this on tape sounded like these fucking retards? I've watched many. I've heard none.

Way too easy to sit on the sidelines and making perfectly rational decisions after the fact. Until you've had this sort of shit happen right in front of you, you don't know how you'll react.

eg. Most of the vids, people don't step away from the glass or seek cover, they just stare. They are dreadfully lucky they didn't wear a face full of glass for both secondary explosions. Rational thought goes out the door in these moments.

The World's Saddest Robot

Louis CK Probably won't be Invited back to SNL after this

JustSaying says...

Guys, this ain't so hard...
You're a racist when you assign more or less value as a human being to people of a certain race (ethnical group) than you assign to yourself because of their ethnicity. There's a difference between saying "Stalin is less worth than M.L. King" (personal opinion) and "white people are worth less than blacks". The latter would be racism.
Prejudice is when you have opinions about people before knowing the facts about them.
Walking up to Mike Tyson and saying "You must have a giant cock because all black men are giants" is a prejudice that may be racist but it assigns positive values. Sure, it's offensive, like telling asian people they must be great at math, but somewhat forgivable. You're an ignorant cunt, yeah, but at least you said something flattering. You racist.
Walking up to Mike and telling him "All black men are criminals" is not only prejudice but also racist. Why? Because calling somebody a criminal is a negative judgement. A generalized negative prejudice towards an ethnic group is a racist way of thinking. Mike was convicted for raping his girlfriend. He is a criminal. Not all black men are Tyson. And if they were, I'd prefer the science variant. You're plain wrong.
Now saying "I bet all black people like listening to R'nB music" is just prejudice. There's no judgement here. Right? Unless you consider "he listens to R'n'B" an insult. How about "all polish people love ice cream"? Did you just imply polish people are all fat?
The difference between prejudice and racist prejudice lies entirely in subtext and context. It's not what you say, it's what you mean.
Prejudice is a tightrope made of blurry lines spanning over a pit of outrage. That's why politicians should not walk that way.
Being aware of differences between race, ethnic groups and talking about is simply being hones and probably not giving a shit about political correctness. We ARE different. That's the interesting part.
What we sadly forget is this: to focus on what we have in common. But somebody already said that way more eloquent than I ever could:
"Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs,
dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with
the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject
to the same diseases, healed by the same means,
warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer
as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed?
If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us,
do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?
If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that.

He's raised the bar so much for his style of humor, the last few things he's produced don't tickle me as much as his earlier 'break-out' stuff, but it's a good thing. This was just a hilarious as his previous material, and I'm glad he continues to consistently deliver.

The bottom line is: the police officers did absolutely nothing wrong. But this lady comes out, she hates cops which tickles your gooseberries and instead of using critical thinking, you let your emotions get the better of you.

Try not to do that, it makes you sound juvenile.

War Thunder - Victory is Ours - Most Epic Game Trailer Ever

I'm aware of her films, though she didn't fit my specific fetishes (nothing 'creepy', just taste-wise she didn't tickle my fancy).
Still though, this is a great little video, and what I feel is the best way to deal with modern bullying and criticism. She's quite brave to produce this and I only wish there was some way to show support that, coming from a male at least, didn't appear to have strings attached or give the impression of such.
Regardless, I feel extremely bad for her experience but I hope she makes it through her personal trials, graduates, retires from such a rough industry, and goes on to have a very happy and wonderful life in another field of her choosing. Women in that profession don't make nearly enough in exchange for what they give away, let alone relative to the net profit by those that hire them. Most women in this industry deserve to retire as millionaires as far as I'm concerned.

Jon Stewart Goes After Fox in Ferguson Monologue

dannym3141 says...

Not only do i think this is wrong, but i think it is obviously and patently wrong.

It is demonstrable that a confrontation does not necessarily escalate the longer it goes on for. If you've been taught that in training by someone purporting to be an expert then i despair. I almost feel at a loss for where to begin - i have been in thousands of confrontations that de-escalated due to more time passing allowing both parties to explain or understand better, or for the blood to cool down. I've seen thousands of the same types of confrontation happening to other people. It literally happens all the time; misunderstandings get corrected and the situation de-escalates.

I hope that the brief explanation has betrayed what you really meant. Perhaps you were talking about a specific range of situations with a violent individual.

Or perhaps that's the problem and someone has been training law enforcement this falsehood which effectively encourages you to use the most extreme measure you have to end the conflict more quickly and keep it at a safely low level of escalation. And then you end up with mine- and rocket-resistant urban combat vehicles patrolling the streets, teams of camo'd police holding weapons INCORRECTLY in the presence of civilians on your own streets, and the mowing down of unarmed shoplifters...... all because it's more kind that way? I refute that, and before anyone says the most dangerous words ever spoken 'but we've always done it that way', in a discussion about the ineptitude or otherwise of law enforcement you aren't allowed the premise "law enforcement's methods are and always have been the best way to do things." -- Law enforcement, along with politics, should be the most heavily scrutinised and re-scrutinised systems that exist - because of their unique position to affect people.

I do NOT consider the concern for the safety of a police officer to be greater than the concern for the rights of a citizen; i was under the impression that police were the defence line between citizens and criminals, they put their lives on the line to keep society safe and running. Their job is to ensure we can be citizens, and they are paid to uphold the ideals of the society - freedom, respect for the individual and personal security. I genuinely hope they do so safely, but you don't play with feathers unless you're willing to get your arse tickled, as the saying goes. It is very possible to be safe, respectful and understanding all at the same time in the pursuit of law enforcement. If a person does not have the ability to behave that way they should not be in the job in the same way as someone who finds kids irritating and hit-able shouldn't go into childcare.

Insane police chase of drunk semi truck driver

artician says...

Too many assumptions in this thread.

You have no idea what was going on in the semi's cab. We only know he was drunk after the fact. Guy could have had a seizure or stroke, been fighting a hijacker, or simply had multiple, innocent people as passengers. The only reason you can condemn him for bad judgement is because you, the viewer, knew the verdict before you even clicked the link.

I was surprised that they elevated the situation to trying to shoot the tires out.

I laughed at the fact that the passenger of the cop car looks like he's playing a video-game for the first 1/3rd of the clip (probably prepping his gun).

I was tickled that Russian highway patrol has mauve-colored seats.

Anyway, I agree with force-when-necessary, and corporal punishment as a last resort, but if you don't exhaust all other options first: Fuck you, your government, and whatever laws you think support that.

Hayek on Socialism (3:23)

enoch says...

@Trancecoach
once again you call me out on an old and dusty post.
this time to accuse me and (@ChaosEngine this time) of being socialists, narcissists AND knowitalls.when i have been very open and honest with you that economics is not my strong suit.

now why would you do that?
was it that we had the audacity to disagree with you?
the thing that tickles me is that i actually agree with a fairly large percentage of what you post.
my issue is with YOU,personally.

i have attempted to speak as humanly as possible with you.
and what have i gotten in return?
ridicule,accusations,harrassment.
a barrage of passive aggressive swipes at my integrity and intellect.

your childish and rather crude attempts to engage with people who have already made it quite clear you have lost their attention due to your own petulance is really what i find most interesting.

your attentions towards me have become more and more rude and spiteful, yet no apology has been forthcoming.

is this because you are unaware of your own callousness?
or that my feelings are irrelevant?
is it because this is this the internet so who cares?
is it possible i offended you in the past, because if that is the case i am totally unaware of any slight i may have directed towards you and will be happy to make amends.

i know that i have made myself quite clear in regards to how your commentary is perceived by me.so there should be no confusion.

i will not apologize for not giving your words the weight that you may possible feel they deserve for the simple fact you have been exposed on multiple occasions plagiarizing the works of others and attempted to pawn them off as your own.

so if that is the reason...well..sorry...but you are responsible for that perception.has nothing to do with me.

i find it interesting you accuse people of using tactics you, yourself use often.

but to me,in my world..it is the WHY of things that i always find most interesting.

why do you continue to keep calling me out when you obviously find me to be an inferior specimen to discuss your passions?

i may find economics moderately interesting but it is most certainly not a passion of mine.

i have never tagged you in a discussion on the Epistemology and theosophy of the radical jesus and subsequent resurrection mythologies.

no apology for rudeness and passive aggressive swipes at my character, yet you consistently tag me in posts to ridicule and berate.

this is what i find most interesting.

or am i being narcissistic?

Dad Pulls Water Balloon Trampoline Prank on Kids

bareboards2 says...

Kids can love to be teased....

One of my favorite memories is being at a potluck where I didn't know many people. There was a little girl, maybe 4 years old, running around in a big circle throughout the house, who kept running near me as I lounged on a bean bag chair. As she ran past, I would try to grab her. (I was a 30 year old woman, not a man, by the way.) She would shriek and run away from me.

Every time she came by, her shrieks got to be more and more terrified, it seemed to me. That the fun was going out of it. So I thought -- you'd better back off, this isn't fun anymore, you don't know this kid.

So she circles back again, but this time I don't go for her. She stops a few feet away from me. Her eyes are HUGE as she stares at me. I'm getting seriously worried that I have scarred this unknown kid for life. She takes a tiny step forward. I do nothing. She takes another step forward. I do nothing.

She takes one more step forward, her eyes locked on mine with complete focus. In a deep unnatural voice, thrumming with energy, drawn out in anticipation, she intones -- "Scaaaaare me."

That happened 30 years ago and it still tickles the holy heck out of me.
