Obamacre Navigators Exposed Coaching Applicants to Lie

VoodooV says...

Translation: no I can't prove it but I'll once again try to draw attention away from my failure and instead, hurl insults and throw a temper tantrum with the writing skills of a first grader.

Again, all insurance companies fault for giving your sister a shitty plan. Their bad plan, their price gouging (which will eventually go down when they are forced to compete instead of rip people off) and you still blame the black man. Insurance companies are nothing but middleman. They don't actually provide a service and they play a hell of a bigger role in why medical costs are being driven up more than your bogeyman Obama ever will.

Try actually reading the article instead of just looking at the colorful pictures and you might learn something...... Nah you'll just keep on shilling for the people ripping you off

You are just fucked in the head stupid.

The insurance companies have to move all its members to the new required levels of policies as per the Unaffordable Care Act. That forces the cancellation of some 5 Million policies.

Did you momma drop you on the head or something? You are getting fucked by this law and done even know it.

Van Jones: Let's Stop Trying to Please Republicans

VoodooV says...

We're pretty much at that tipping point now. More and more people are jumping ship from the Republican party, maybe not in name, but in the ballot box.

All you have to do is to continue to extend the argument. We compromise with the right and go individual mandate, still not enough.

It passes into law, and gets challenged and sent to the Supreme court and gets upheld. STILL not enough.

They then continue their temper tantrum and shut down the gov't over it. public polls swing against them and they go into full damage control mode, blame Obama of course, even though it's purely a congressional issue. Then they pretend the shutdown is a good thing, then they pretend that the shutdown had nothing to do with Obamacare.

STILL not enough so now they whine about the website which yes, does have a grain of legitimate complaint to it. But still, even though they dropped the ball on the website, it's still a non-argument, it's noise. it's distraction. Its nothing that will sway people in the polls. but still they try to pin it on Obama...I'm sure the birthers will now conjure some sort of argument. Obama isn't a Kenyan, he's an IT guy from India sent to sabotage our health care websites.

They just keep grasping at straws and coming up with more and more absurd arguments that don't have any leg to stand on.

I think they're starting to realize that they're losing the culture war. So quite honestly, I think we might be entering a phase where the right starts resorting to a Scorched Earth mentality. If they can't run the gov't then no one can. We've already seen them shutdown the gov't over a constitutionally passed and upheld law. They're willing to oppose a president even when he compromises and embraces THEIR plans.

We're past the point of reasonable opposition here. I think we're going to see more sabotage attempts. We're approaching the point where they're going to have less and less to lose

Bill Moyers Essay: On the Sabotage of Democracy

VoodooV says...

I've got no problems with them seceding at this point. Texas for example, their ego is so over-inflated I would just LOVE to see them fall flat on their face if they put their money where their mouth is.

That's the thing though, it's all bluster, it's a temper tantrum at a state level. If you don't do what I want I'm going to hold my breath until I die. THEN you'll be sorry!!!

If any state seceded, the most immediate effect would probably be the taxes for that state would go up dramatically since they'd now have to pay for things the fed used to pay for.

Sometimes I wonder if the Republicans/Tea Partiers would just be better off trying to succeed again. Then they can prove to the world how to properly run their own country in to the ground.

TeaParty Congressman Blames Park Ranger for Shutdown

VoodooV says...

I see @lantern53 has no idea how gov't works. You see bobknight33, err I mean lantern53, There are three branches of government. Only one of them can create laws.

After much compromise, congress passed a law called the ACA. The President agreed and signed it into Law. It was ALSO upheld by the Supreme Court. So you see, ALL THREE branches of gov't are OK with this law.

Now this faction in the House of Representatives are trying to pass a law that says "sure, we'll fund gov't...but only if you de-fund or repeal the ACA. That's not governing, that's called taking a hostage. The senate isn't going to agree, so there's deadlock. See, the president isn't even involved.

He would ONLY get involved if both housed agreed with this, but guess what, even if congress agreed with the Tea Party, The President has this pesky little thing called a veto, which sends it back to Congress and they need a whopping 2/3rds majority vote to override him.

sorry, ain't going to happen. But hey, I'm happy that I could give you some remedial education since you refused to pay attention in class.

So in actuality, The Tea Party can keep having their little temper tantrum, They're all but digging their graves in the next election.

Brave Texas woman speaks out against legislators

newtboy says...

So, just to get things clear here, you're saying the rule is that you are allowed to label, overgeneralize, degrade and denigrate 100% of Americans and/or 100% of non Texans as a homogeneous group with their heads up their asses, but others are not allowed to complain about 'typical' members of other groups? I choose to exercise my freedom to not follow that ridiculous, self serving rule you've made up. Thanks.
If you can't keep it straight that I'm talking about the sub set of far right wing Texans and want to ascribe my comments to ALL Texans, that's on you not me. I feel I was quite clear.
If you want to intentionally miss-read and miss-represent my statement that there is no perfect utopia, and reverse what I said 180 deg. in order to set up a straw man you CAN argue against and a position you CAN ridicule you may, but most people reading can see that you did it, and it's not a good look. It just makes you look like your comprehension skills are severely lacking (or that your simply a whining little troll having a temper tantrum).

Love the broad brush-strokes, I use similar stereotypical sentiments when referring to MOST Americans regardless of their "state" of incarceration

Coulter stands by controversial word used to describe Obama

PalmliX says...

>> ^Sagemind:

I dislike her and don't agree with any of her blunt, rude comments BUT the word retard has a definition and can used as such.
re·tard 1 (r-tärd)
v. re·tard·ed, re·tard·ing, re·tards
v.tr.
To cause to move or proceed slowly; delay or impede.
v.intr.
To be delayed.
n.
1. A slowing down or hindering of progress; a delay.
2. Music A slackening of tempo.
The word does not mean stupid - it means "To move slowly" and may be used in reference to someone who responds slowly. A very intelligent person can retard the process to get a clear perspective on the situation or to stonewall.
I use retardant in my paint so it drys slower.
Even used as a derogatory term, the word at best, means one is slow. I don't agree with her using the term in the way she did and she was clearly lashing out like a child having a temper tantrum but to the meaning of the word itself, I see so issues here.
Piers needs to let this one go and move on.

Hmmm the only problem with this argument is that right underneath the section of the website you quoted there's this:

re·tard 2 (rtärd)
n. Offensive Slang
1. Used as a disparaging term for a mentally retarded person.
2. A person considered to be foolish or socially inept.

Now I'm all for free speech, even offensive free speech when it has something important or meaningful to say but this is the entirety of Anne's tweet: “I highly approve of Romney's decision to be kind and gentle to the retard.”

Which to me lacks any real substance and says nothing of consequence or importance. In fact its just plain nasty and shallow.

Couple Arrested For Asking Directions

Woman cops...too many of them are badge-heavy. Some of them are pretty good. Too many cause more problems than they solve.

Reality: Men and women miserable in life that are cops...too many of them are badge-heavy. Some of them are pretty good. Too many cause more problems than they solve

Contrary to popular belief apart form some minor physical variances, both male and female (hereafter recognized as the human brain) is the same piece of grey matter. Sexuality has nothing to do with mental dysfunction.

Instead a lack of an individuals personal development due to a deflection of introspection tends to lead towards aggressively lashing out at people around them, or social dysfunction.

Another interesting note, the more psychological pressure we experience the more immature we become. With psychological pressure mental maturity regresses. Ever seen a child lash out in a temper tantrum? That can be anyone put under the right pressure. We all snap at some point.

What is causing this pressure for her? Is it family related? Financially instigated? What part does our society play in it? How? Is this affecting a large percentage of the population?

Ricky Gervais 2012 Golden Globes Opening Monologue

dannym3141 says...

I thought he was funny. People complain that he wasn't insulting enough but given the range of people that were presenting he'd be a bit hard pressed to insult half of them cos they're the nice end of the hollywood spectrum - banderas, portman, etc. they're hardly flamboyant or selfish or anything. Got a few really good insults in, made a fool out of depp and depp loved it, got elton thank god, and a REALLY good insult about the lavishness of the affair during a recession which for me made this the best speech of all he's done; great statement from a man who has enough money to pay no attention to the hardships of a recession.

Just look at that miserable fat fucking flamboyant diva cunt elton john. Miserable twat, i felt my soul start to drain as soon as the camera centred on his jowly podgy churchill cheeks. He's like a fat, old, ugly, slightly camp dementor sucking up the joy everywhere he goes and depositing misery in its place. I've never seen an old man throw a temper tantrum like a 6 year old girl until him. Cos that's what he is. Old. And a D-list celebrity.

Sorry.

Crazy Driver Intentionally Hits Cyclists

Human-sanity says...

First of all, I hope that driver will be found and fully prosecuted for their violent temper tantrum assault. Why didn't the bike riders just pull over to one lane and let traffic pass? If you're going to protest in that inconsiderate fashion, you would think they would be organized/prepared to allow people to pass. Other wise you are just going to alienate those who are indifferent, and could end up resenting Critical Mass come elections and budget cutting season. Bike lane maintenance is a very excusable cut. So one would think winning over the public might be a good overall idea.

After reading up on Critical Mass, they really should find a more efficient way to get their message across. While I see a random protest sign in this video their message remains clouded. Ever heard of the billboard effect? It seems like their message isn't getting out, unless you consider random acts of violence like this to be getting the message out. Ever hear of picketing city hall, after all that's where the decisions they're protesting originate.
