Chicago’s Defund The Police Leads to Supermarkets Closing
As usual, Bobby gets it 100% backwards and grammatically incorrect.
Republican policies always require a Democratic solution.
Supermarkets aren’t closing due to high crime, they largely never existed in these neighborhoods. More idiotic lies by the moronic pathological liar.
Whole foods? In a low income neighborhood? Who could have predicted that would fail? Only anyone with an IQ over 17…so not bob or the people who tell him what to think.
Edit: The hilarious irony with your position, bob, is that “defund the police” (admittedly a terrible name) had the goal of deTASKING police away from mental health calls (and other minor civil issues) that police tend to escalate into serious problems, charges and/or injuries or death requiring massive responses and burning resources when a mental health professional could usually de escalate the situation and get the patient proper medical care without incarceration or worse. It would allow police to focus on crimes like shoplifting, crimes you claim closed these never-existed supermarkets in low income area food deserts.
Side note, so you know, police funding hasn’t actually been cut. It’s still going up in almost every department in every state.
Who last balanced the budget, Bobby? Does your cult addled brain remember…or do you insanely think the answer is Trump? Likely the latter, despite him adding more to the debt and deficit than any two term president, and don’t ignore that he injured the state of the union more than any issue or person in history….and is a rapist.
Democrat Policies always need a Republican solution.
This man is POTUS
Trump (cont'd): "And supply chain. You go to stores and they're half empty. Many stores they can't get products. They can't get anything. You go to luxury stores or non-luxury stores, supermarkets, and the shelves are half there. And nobody's ever seen it. We didn't even have to discuss supply chain during my administration. Because it was a perfect moving machine. It was beautiful. We created the greatest economy in the history of the world. We created an economy that was better than any economy in history."

Burger King's "Madvertizing" | Real Time with Bill Maher
One of those languages is the language of men.
I pay people to do my shopping and prepare my food and serve it to me, then clean up after me. I definitely do not belong in the supermarket or the kitchen unless the help has a knife in their back.
Amanda Gorman translators into foreign languages are quitting one by one because they are not young black poetesses. Some languages lack young black poetesses.
People who want to be in the kitchen belong in the kitchen regardless of race and/or sex. But only if they can actually cook.
Supermarket Opera Flash Mob
For those curious: it's from an opera by Giuseppi Verdi
La Traviata
It's in Act 1: 'Libiamo ne' lieti calici' (Alfredo, Violetta, Chorus) (Libiamo ne' lieti calici)
The song is a brindisi, a lively song that encourages the drinking of wine or other alcoholic beverages. The duet is performed in the first act of the opera, during a late-night party at Violetta Valéry's house. It is sung by Violetta and Alfredo Germont, a young man who is in love with her. Alfredo is convinced by his friend Gastone and by Violetta to show off his voice. He begins this drinking song, later joined by Violetta and the rest of the company.
The piece is written in B-flat major, its time signature is 3/8, and the tempo is marked Allegretto, dotted quarter note.
The 3/8 time signature is why you hear (or see in your mind's eye?) a waltz going on.
Oh, and on looking up: Drakes Supermarket is in Australia !

Hoarding An Entire Store's Toilet Paper Inventory
Here in Toronto Canada, we had these same panic buying of TP just the same as in the USA, Australia and other countries, no stock anywhere last week. But today the supermarkets has them on sale (~$10 CDN for a bag of 30 rolls.... that's like $7 USD) but under 1 bag per customer limit. All the TV news said the stock will be replenished soon.
What I'm worry about though, are the cleanliness of fresh produce. I've seen lots of a**holes coughing of fruits & vegetables AFTER they had their pick....
God damnit Chug.
I'd prefer they don't get bred in the first place, and that part falls on us, the customers, to make better choices at the supermarket.
You have the choice of not drinking any milk at all if you are genuinely concerned with water use.
You would prefer they get put out in an unusable field to starve, as long as they aren't eaten? If they serve no purpose, they won't be cared for, but they'll still exist.
If the dairy industry is gone, beef ranchers would just fill the veal gap, so different young cows still die under that plan.
Switching to non dairy isn't ecologically sound too....especially with almond milk for many reasons.
Gas Masks For Horses - January 1940
Funny. I never see it in the dairy section of the supermarket.
Buh-doi...horses produce milk too.
Why Shell's Marketing is so Disgusting
I'm gonna have to stop at 100 companies being responsible for 71% of green house gas emissions.
If the criticism is deceptive practices, don't start with deceptive statistics of your own. It's awful easy to blame Shell for all the greenhouse gas emissions of the gasoline they sell. It's wonderful to not have to take personal responsibility for your act of buying that gas for your own transportation, for the manufacture of your own food, for the transportation of that same food to your supermarket. Better still, the gas and electricity used to heat and cool your home can be blamed on the coal and power companies too.
Videos like this are part of the problem by abdicating our own responsibilities and pawning it off on someone else. Stop making this worse while pretending to care about the problem.
Fighting Fake Honey In Canada
We have an identical problem here in Aus too.
Bill Gates Guesses Grocery Store Prices
He probably has a better idea of how much the supermarket is worth than any individual products within it. Not knowing the price of things you never buy isn't being out of touch. If he didn't know how much a Windows licence was that'd be an issue.
It's much more fun to watch wealthy politicians struggle with prices since they are actually supposed to know these things.
How fucking out of touch can you be
Takeout creates a lot of trash. It doesn't have to.
From 1 jan 2016 the Dutch government has obliged shops and restaurants to charge 10 cents for any plastic bag they give out.
https://www.government.nl/topics/environment/ban-on-free-plastic-bags
This means plastic bag use in supermarkets, shops and restaurants has fallen by 70%. It has also triggered shops and restaurants to be more aware. Disposable napkins, cutlery etc are only given when asked. Part of this was that it is a cost to the companies and the government made it socially acceptable, even hip, to take these out.
How Game of Thrones Helped Save a Farm in Northern Ireland
Supermarket like everyone else.
Have to wait for someone to walk through the door first though.
How do you hunt for food then?!?!
Veritasium - Worlds Heaviest Weight
Yeah, I kind of get why the average american doesn't want to learn a new measurement system for shopping at the supermarket or driving.
But why do scientists or engineers still use it? To them it's just more conversions to do.
Dog Feels Petting Instead of Abuse For The First Time
Steak is tough one to replicate, you'll probably have to wait for the lab grown stuff. But just about everything else we've got you covered
If you like your chicken crumbed, these are great https://gardein.com/product-type/chickn/
(the un-crumbed ones I don't really like)
from Asian stores/take-outs 'roast duck' seitan is also very nice.
And in general sausages and burger patties most are pretty nice these days.
I'm not sure how things are on your end of the world, but where I live most supermarkets carry mock-meats which taste like cardboard so avoid like the plague! But if you go to a specialty store they should have the brands that actually taste good. Once you know the brands that you like then you can sometimes find them in a regular grocer as well.
But really at the end of day if you're eating the "starch solution" 6 days then eat real meat once a week, then you're still doing a lot more good than bad. Less is always better.
I'm not sure I could ever stop eating meat (primarily chicken), but I understand that there is serious mistreatment and mismanagement of farm animals. I think a greater adoption in North America of CAK (controlled atmosphere killing) via something like high concentrations of nitrogen gas would be a great improvement, especially if it could be extended to pigs and cows. The old stun bolt or electric immobilization (for poultry) and throat-cut method seems so barbaric and I find it hard to believe that it doesn't result in pain.
