Well, I was going to say "Your Rocky Spine" by Great Lake Swimmers (probably my favorite PQed song), but I see you've found that already. Thanks man. Paul4dirt is still around upvoting, I've noticed a couple. He must be in a dry spell as far as posting.

Thanks for dropping me a line - I gotta remember to check certain people's PQs now and then. I always miss some good stuff.

Evenin' partner. Glad to know some people actually notice. Makes my evil disco heart all warm and fuzzy.

Been on somewhat of a hiatus lately, still drop in every once in a while, though. It's an on-again, off-again love affair. Plus, folk has been all the rage for me lately, which isn't easy to sift. Not that I mind, I'll keep posting what I like.

Had to scan through your unsifted & PQ to see what you've been posting, threw out a few upvotes. Glad to see you're still around.

Slow motion bullets vs objects, with a message

Drax says...

True moral behavior stems from a person's own integrity. It can't just be told to a person, that person has to see why in their own heart immoral behavior is bad. That journey is personal and can be effected by many things. Environment affects people, but you'll find immoral behavior in rich neighborhoods and bad ones. In a rich neighborhood the person is content, so they wont outright show their bad sides.. but we've seen enough politicians give us an example of how it can manifest behind the scenes.

I think it's better for a person to do their own moral searching then to be taught it through religion. There's far more integrity when the person self enlightens themselves, though if they take religious teachings as metaphor and it helps illuminate the path then that's something. But if it's through fear of hypothetical consequences of the afterlife builds the wrong kind of person, imo. They feel self elevated, "I'm going somewhere good, and you're not...", which is more like a gang mentality. Plus if a person feels they're going to heaven, they're on the right side of the fence.. then maybe they can bend the rules a little while they're still around. They're saved after all right?

The most moral and ethical people I've gotten to know got to where they are using their own minds and establishing what's truly right or wrong themselves. I like how 'liberals' had to be brought up in this discussion. Some would no doubt call the friends I mentioned liberals, I just call them normal people. Seems conservatives have this need to label everyone into groups, us and them. Guess it's easier then trying to understand people as individuals. Also helps to project one's bias views.

Whoa what the fuck?! ZeFrank is still around?! Holy fucking crap! I watched The Show since it began... But then he started putting ads everywhere, and then there was that whole thing about the cats in flickr photos... Oh well, good times!

Americanface, Part One

choggie says...

Always have said that this cat's particular early sensation on youtube (..."for more information on the Crack Spider's Bitch, contact the Canadian Wildlife Service, in Ottawa.") was one of the best that has ever been produced-Cheers to the plastiquemonkey whose own sense of high art and eye for the incredible super ultra unmundane, was one of the reasons I joined this sideshow in the first place...

Then, as the site became more and more filled with farts, cats, newsclips, and all manner of Hieronymus Bleggh, she and he disassociated, got hornier once they dragged themselves away from the puter went and had a cute little Japanadian baby, and the rest is history...cute history.

She's still around, but that bundle of volcanic island cuteness has her being more of a mommer than a sifter...thak god she still finds time to paint and draw!!

Thank you Ms. Yamaguchi. You are one twisted, fineart, puppy!...and I would love for you to introduce me to all your single Japanese girlfriends-I hear the ladies of Japan love us sensitive American boys-who treat them like queens instead of servants and chattel....and who enjoy cunnilingus and tip good at restaurants and can sing karaoke and play electric guitar and who ride Harleys' and love tube amplification and tiny electronics and ....(man I need to get my ass to Japan before it sinks!)

Child Birth as Orgasmic Experience

^I wasn't saying that it was all about money - though I do think that's a part of it for many. I think that the medical profession appeals to individuals who enjoy having power over other people. I feel the same way about police.

I don't think it's right to paint all doctors as great martyrs- doing it all for their community. They are human, and there is a whole spectrum of motivations. I certainly don't think they deserve quite the pedestal that most people place them on - or a free-ride, or even the benefit of the doubt.

I'm generalizing and speaking from personal experience only for sure. These are my opinions, but I don't think it's fair to call them ignorant. There's a level of hubris, and blind certitude that goes along with medicine - that is, in my opinion unscientific.

Things like the over-prescription of anti-biotics, the over-use of epidurals, scheduled caesarians to match convenient days, the debacle of dangerous drugs like Viox, Fen-phen and others -- deserve scrutiny and assessment - not a white washing over, and dismissal that doctors play no role in these matters.

These guys are still around, they're just pushing other drugs besides nicotine:

Haha yeah the flutist is Bob Hite! I think they had to lipsync this so Bob was making a bit of a joke out of it. He was a really neat guy too. Bob "The Bear" Hite! I wish they were still around, these guys :{

I wouldn't touch your wife with my 40-foot pole... eh? eh?

Is this thing on? *tap tap*

I'd much rather take a slap in the face than all this rumor shit, that's for sure.

I'm quite sure AC will return. Abandoning the site in which one has invested so much should feel like abandoning a part of themselves.

Also, I'd say you don't have to worry about 'making friends' - trying to be super-sensitive towards any sensitivities they might possess ought to be enough Take me for example - I'm very much open to any kind of fooling around as far as tongue-in-cheek goes, but make the slightest double-entendre towards my wife and I'll slash your cheek.

Just kidding - I'll kill you.
Kidding again - I'll probably just put you on ignore, spread rumors around and won't talk to you ever again

Don't ever take a vacation again, edd!

Your conclusion is basically the same as mine. I made mistakes, sure, but this was not in any shape or form the right way to handle it. Flaming out is the coward's way out, slamming the door and flipping the bird to everyone on the way - I've never done that and I aspire to never do that in the future either.

I don't want to paint myself the sole victim here, because obviously I'm not, but I did try to contact both bea, ivy and ac and while ivy did talk to me she didn't want to talk about that, and the two others completely ignored me - so I had no idea what to think.

Anyway, I hope ac finds her way back here at some point in the future and I think that ivy is still around too. What happened, happened, and couldn't have happened in any other way.

Lord knows I'm gonna be real damn careful before considering anyone my friend again.

what the fuck, mate?

I have to leave the Sift for some 2 weeks and it's a whole new Siftpocalypse all of a sudden. Honestly - last time I took more than a week off, 3/11 happened.

I just finished sorting through all the shit that hit the fan while I was away, and for what it's worth, while I did sometimes think you might have been obnoxious and balancing on the edge of what's appropriate and not in your convos, particularly with members that could be easily upset AND while a particular episode in your adventures in Texas appears to have been extremely ill-advised, the sudden outbursts in a_c's thread and the lack of communication that lead to that were, without a doubt, NOT an appropriate response to whatever you did or did not do.

Anyway, I'm very happy to see that you haven't left the site and continue sifting videos. I find it weird that so many experienced members just up and leave like that. I couldn't. If I ever felt like I didn't like the direction the place was going, I'd start talking about it before long.

And really, let's look at the bright side - at least there's a lesson for everybody involved in this.

Behind the scenes: Seinfeld on Curb Your Enthusiasm

Reunion shows suck - the plot will be a thinly veiled story that brings back all the characters (that are still around) without doing much of anything.

It'll be a huge improvement over the last ending.

I'll re-post the comment I just left on your profile:
I'm excited for this channel. With a specific section for these types of videos, they will get more attention, and thus hopefully provoke many more fascinating, significant discussions! I applaud your choice of channel, Duckman, and I will certainly make a point of sifting some quality videos to add to the collection.
