Meh, I learned because I rolled my dad's cigarettes for him when I was a kid. He would hand me a can of Bugler Tobacco and papers, I would spend the evening rolling them since there wasn't much else to do out in the AZ desert at night. I even started smoking because they were cheap and I knew how to roll.

Later, when I got into the sticky, I pretty much did the same thing. I know for a fact that I wouldn't touch a joint that someone dunked into their mouth. It isn't even necessary if you packed your wad tight enough, just if you rolled sloppy and want to slow the burn rate down.

Of course, I gave all of that stuff up a long time ago. Don't think I've smoked a joint since 2000. Funny thing , though, roll your own cigs are coming back in a big way because the bulk tobacco doesn't get hit with all of the same taxes as pre-made. My former smoking buddies tell me that you can save 1/2 to 2/3 the price of pre-mades now.

Presuming that I don't think it was completely stage managed (I do) or that Russia isn't trying to score cheap points at America's expense (it is).

But again, that doesn't make him wrong. The west, headed by the US, has been putting it's sticky fingers in to the middle east for over 50 years, and it's only gotten worse and worse. How much western equipment now rests in IS hands? How many WMD's did the US find in Iraq? How many innocent people have died in the decades of war waged in the name of what exactly?

You can gussy it up as much as you like, but the US has been preaching the dogma of the greatest nation on earth/leaders of the world for years. Leaders set examples, so I guess it's not a massive surprise that the world is in such a god awful state...

I have little regard for Putin but for most of this dog and pony show, he's pretty much on the money.

Seems a lot of cats really like going into the sink. I'm lucky my cat is a bit vertically retarded. I'm not sure this can even be called a katana, since they use mechanical devices to make it, not pure hand forging.

According to numerous 'how to' videos and books I've seen, @Magicpants has a good point, the blade should be straight until heat treating/quenching. Some interesting stuff here, but I'm not 100% sure it's all accurate by historic katana making standards.

And yes, @lucky760, ray skin. Just like shark skin, it's like natural sand paper and would make a grip quite 'sticky' to the hand.
