O'Reilly Can’t Believe Polls: Bernie Crushes Republicans

Fairbs says...

If they were successful in blocking Trump, do you think he'd run on his own? I don't see him having the stamina to continue to campaign, but his ego might override that.

On another note, you don't happen to work with Reid Fleming???

Coulthard on team orders

chingalera says...

I for my, have no transferable or proven or legitimate strategy whatsoever with regard to any game, life, or fundamental existence in a world virtual or otherwise.... Experiential stamina however, affords her luxury when tinctured with a sheer will and a general joyfulness about having to put up with bullshit. WHEN said bullshit comes in the form of some anonymous individual saaaaay, who pops-in via an internet portal disguised as a welcome mat at yer mum's cousin's house because they "knows" you better than you know yourself, reads a few rules then proceeds to try and hand me my ass and feed it to me and tell me how it should taste?? Yeah, that's the kind of damaged cunt that needs a time fucking out.

Enjoyed your time-out so far ya fuckin' cunts?? Good. Now y'all can continue to fuck the FUCK off!

Love you gorillaman, and thank you for the sage wisdom that only a solid wanker like yourself can serve iced-cold

Strategy is what makes F1 more interesting to watch than other sports, which are typically just a bunch of sweaty morons running around on a lawn.

Team orders have always been a good thing and people who don't like them are intellectually and morally subhuman.

This Dancer is a Wonderful Insult to Gravity

robbersdog49 says...

I'm not feeling it. He's good, but male and female gymnasts are very different, and he's doing the female bit. I don't mean that pole dancing is a women only thing, just that he's doing it like a girl. Look at the differences between men and women's floor work in gymnastics. Men need to be a lot more powerful in their routines, but this guy isn't doing anything a good female dancer couldn't.

He's good, but I've seen female pole routines that show at least as much strength and way more stamina.

I'd love to see what one of these guys could do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2407_uPHpIk

(Fast forward to 6:00 to see the routines start).

Ron Casey Interviews Rocky Marciano (1966)

chingalera says...

I was always amazed by the sheer palookatude of Marciano and his stamina in tossing enough errant punches to either land points or blows. A true piece of boxing meat! No one could stand after his straight to the jaw...now or ever.

"The rest of the page reads like it was written by a programmer (probably because it was)."

I was going to chime-in to make a similar point-The site would benefit greatly from a re-tooling from a marketing standpoint-The place has been online long enough to have attracted more regulars-Most of the tweaks initiated here come from the realm of the programmer(s), formula-over-function....

There's plenty of talent and appeal available on the site to tap into when you find it's soul-The preeminent users here, so tenured through charter or stamina can do a lot to encourage fringe participants to broaden the appeal of the community-

One user in particular whose submissions and personality added some quality weight to the place is Arvana.... His fare was mind-expansion² with never a mundane cat fart, car wreck with or without human injury, or unkind word for anyone. A few real pieces of amazing work have floated through here.,.,.

Saying normla mode is easy is because it is normal mode.

Many people will only ever play it once. Those people have to play normal, and for many of those players normal sucks and they knew it was going to.

For someone like me, it meant that the first time I saw the content it was in fast forward mode (trying to escape the mindless, challenge-free boredom of normal mode), which ruined what might have been some more enjoyable content.

And it's ridiculous that I can't start a new character on Nightmare (just make him level 30 with no gear... whatever). This means I can't reasonably play with a friend who's behind me in levels (he's 30, I'm around 50) without doing another 10 hour slog. And I can't try another character without a 10 hour slog.

I don't want to do any slogs. Just let me play the fun parts of a game, please.

Also, they should have made "elective mode" either default or a little more noticeable (because the game is much worse without it).

The skill system means gear is the only way your character is actually different than others. It works, but it takes something away from the game. The way difficulty scales is really unsatisfying. It doesn't feel like your skills are tested; it feels more like your gear and stamina are being tested. Skills and item balance were not well tested before launch. I don't know how this was done so poorly by a company with so much experience.

It's a good game.. but not nearly as good as I expected, with very little innovation, and with a few really questionable decisions. I'm pretty much done with it.

I'm super late to the party, but I totally agree about all the useless potions and ridiculous economy. Other than health potions and the occasional stamina, they're completely pointless. Who wants to fuck around with their inventory to use one of the other 1,324 potions to offer a slight amount of niche resistance or some shit?

I have tons of crap and money, but vendors don't have enough money to buy all the crap I want to sell, and don't have anything that I'm the least bit interested in buying (save for the aforementioned health potions). They all have inferior weapons and armor, and why the hell would I be interested in that??

Other than those nitpicks... and that I never bother/think to use my shouts... and that I can generally crush anything except for the occasional very-hard circumstance... it's a very good game, and I'm having a blast. I figure I've sunk 50+ hours into it and I'm sure I'm not half-way through the main story.

What is the single best thing we can do for our health?

So, my unexpected result this year.
I've been trying to lose weight for 15 years. 5'8" 205 lbs. I've tried dieting and always struggled, like most people, with that feeling of starvation and all the temptation that makes you fail.

In March I started walking at lunch 5 days a week and cut my calories down to about 1100 per day. At first I had no workout gear and after a mile and a quarter walk I was winded and sweating. Kept on going with the brisk walking and pushing myself harder and further. After a month and a half walking wasn't enough to wind me so I started alternating some jogging. Bought walking shoes and shorts/shirts to work out in. I kept pushing myself and counting my nutrition using a smart phone app so I wouldn't be deprived of vitamins and stuff on the lower calorie diet.

Surprisingly, no hunger. I started to find it hard to over eat because I wasn't hungry. I fealt nasty when I ate high calorie food. The app helped me make smart decisions when it mattered.
Over time I had to jog more and walk less to get a workout. After 4 months I was varying my workouts daily but averaging 4 miles per day during my lunch break. After 3 months I'd reached my goal of getting under 190. After 6 months I'd lost more than 30 pounds.

I have more stamina, look good, feel awesome and grew a beard for winter. ;-) Just had a physical and my cholesterol and blood pressure are perfect for the first time in 10 years. Every result on my physical was perfectly in range.

The only thing I did different from all my other attempts in 15 years was walk.

If you try to imagine walking/jogging 45-60 minutes a day, 5 days a week...you will fail before you start. Just go the first day and walk fast for as long as you can. Then make the decision to go the next day and push yourself again. Every day, decide to do it. Before you know it you'll be doing distances and times you never imagined and digging in the back of your closet for old clothes that fit.

Walking works.

This game currently owns all my free time. My jaw drops at some of the situations I get into, we're talking some seriously thought out quests. Polished is the norm and the bugs I've found are not even close to game breakers. (pc) The only issue I have is, (same as Yahtzee's) the fact that healing/stamina potions and a good weap are all you really need. At level 25 now and can clear mostly any dungeon I find with too much ease. Gonna go full cater next and see how that plays though.
