Teen Boy Saves His Dad’s Life By Lifting Fallen Truck

luxintenebris jokingly says...

oh! you know it's real.

did you see the gap between dad & son? both looked uncomfortable as hell...like either one of them would have even fist-bumped.

Bidens Border mess

newtboy says...

Such nonsense. Biden tried to remove the disastrous stay in Mexico policy, but was forced to keep Trump’s border rules until under three fucking weeks ago, dumbshit. He sent more back home to places like Hati than Trump did too. Derp.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/biden-administration-ends-trump-era-remain-in-mexico-policy

Trump’s $40 billion fence hasn’t slowed immigration one percent, as expected. $40 billion more funding to border patrol would have been hundreds of times more effective….but not a monument to Trump.
Not using the border patrol to do useless, expensive political stunts instead of their job helps too.
Good BS blaming someone else. Republicans saying the borders are open is the number one reason people in South America believe it…that’s what THEY say, and why they’re coming now. This lies at least in part at their feet.

Funny how absolutely nothing was the president’s responsibility Jan 2017-21, but now everything in the country is his fault….except the things getting better like unemployment, wages, gdp, covid, the economy, gas prices recently, etc.

Bullshit. Trump never had any program to combat gang violence. Stop lying. His best plan was round up all Mexicans and you’ll get a lot of gang members too, but that’s a horrific and outrageous (and impossible) way to achieve that goal.

Calling them criminals invading is EXACTLY the point of this video, dummy. No one is barging into your house, most aren’t in the drug trade, for the vast majority crossing a line is the only crime they ever committed, and if our immigration/asylum policies were functional they wouldn’t have committed that crime. Just more nonsensical babbling from a ridiculous tool.

Funny how minor crime to save ones life is outrageous to you, but severe treasonous crimes for personal enrichment is a nothing burger. Stupid is as stupid does, and holy shit do you advocate for some stupid shit.

Denying asylum seekers entry was a crime when it started. Do it the right way or you are committing a crime every time you deny one. That’s Trump policy, no problem when he breaks the law, right? You don’t care a whit about law or crime, only about what you can pin on your rivals. Proven time and time and time and time and time and time again. You see no crime ever on the right, and fantasize about non existent crimes from the left, constantly.
Again, Barr lied and obstructed justice to protect Trump who lied and obstructed justice, court findings, but still not a crime because the statutes of limitations expired, right? No crime if they criminally slipped out of legal jeopardy….right?
And you also can’t see the hypocrisy. 🤦‍♂️

Answer this (I know you won’t, you are incapable of ever answering questions unless fed the far right answer, while I address every point you try to make every time)…how much has Abbot wasted on this stunt that hasn’t moved 1/2 days worth of immigrants out of state? Wouldn’t that money be better spent stopping crossings rather than with meaningless political stunts like this and the $10 billion waste of money with his border inspections that didn’t find a single stowaway or drug caches?

Highest OD rates thanks to Biden's administration.

And so much worse.

Good BS blaming everyone else. Biden administration is the enforcer of the border . This lies at his feet.

Trump was gathering up MS13 member but liberal cites were blocking and hindering.

Democrats like this. You gt what you vote for.

" @bobknight33, with the exception of the crime of illegal entry, undocumented immigrants commit crimes at levels much lower than citizens. "

That not the point I walk into you house sit on the couch and eat your food.. No crime Right???????

Come in the right way else you are committing a crime.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Pilot Makes Emergency Landing on Busy Highway

jimnms says...

During my flight training, I was always taught that a highway or paved road was the last place to land in an emergency. For one, power lines tend to cross paved roads and by the time you can see them, it's too late to avoid them. Another is that it endangers others on the ground. Many pilots lose their lives trying to save the plane in an emergency. The best advice I got during my training was that when the plane quits on you, it's now your life boat. Use it to save your life, don't risk yours to save it.

During my flight training I also worked at a small GA airport. I got to know a lot of the pilots there. One owned a construction company and would often fly over his construction sites to survey them from the air. He came out that morning, I filled up his plane and he never returned. I didn't think much of it, although he rented a hangar from us, he also had a private air strip too.

A few days later, I found out that he was killed making an emergency landing. While flying over the construction site, his engine quit and he tried to land on a road. A car pulled out from a side street and he pulled up to avoid it. The landing gear snagged a power line, which caused it to nose dive into the ground and rupture the fuel tanks. It caught fire, and people tried to get to him to pull him out. They said he appeared to be alive and trying to get out, but the fire spread too fast.

The way I found out was a bit shocking. Investigators from the NTSB showed up to review our fuel and maintenance logs. We have to perform daily tests on the fuel and equipment, and I was the one that did those tests the day he was killed. It wasn't the fuel that caused the engine to quit, but that thought that maybe I screwed up the test and caused it and knowing he probably burned alive haunted me. That's something I'll never forget.

Let's talk about altering the Supreme Court....

newtboy says...

The Fourth Amendment explicitly affirms the “right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.” The Fifth Amendment in its Self-Incrimination Clause enables the citizen to create a zone of privacy which government may not force him to surrender. The 14th amendment “due process clause” has been interpreted to also affirm a right to privacy.

https://www.aclu.org/other/students-your-right-privacy

Sure sounds like rights to privacy are right there in the bill of rights though, an addendum to the constitution, as explained in numerous Supreme Court rulings.

<SIGH>. I thought you said “Pedantry is tiresome. Tell your friends.” Maybe take your own advice?

Some light reading…. In January 1973, the Supreme Court issued a 7–2 decision in McCorvey's favor ruling that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides a "right to privacy" that protects a pregnant woman's right to choose whether to have an abortion. It also ruled that this right is not absolute and must be balanced against governments' interests in protecting women's health and prenatal life.[4][5] The Court resolved this balancing test by tying state regulation of abortion to the three trimesters of pregnancy: during the first trimester, governments could not prohibit abortions at all; during the second trimester, governments could require reasonable health regulations; during the third trimester, abortions could be prohibited entirely so long as the laws contained exceptions for cases when they were necessary to save the life or health of the mother.[5] The Court classified the right to choose to have an abortion as "fundamental", which required courts to evaluate challenged abortion laws under the "strict scrutiny" standard, the highest level of judicial review in the United States.

dogboy49 said:

To me, the current crop of justices seem to be less willing to deviate from the Constitution as written. Should abortion be allowed? IMO, yes. BUT, are laws banning abortion unconstitutional? According to the Constitution as written and amended, probably not. Roe v Wade was written by a court that believed that abortion and the "right to privacy" should carry the weight of constitutional law, even though the Constitution is silent on these "rights".

My suggestion: If abortion should be considered to be a "right", then so amend the Constitution. Otherwise, it will be subject to the vagaries of "interpretation" forever.

White supremacist Kenosha County Sheriff david beth

newtboy says...

I think I covered that, but to be clear, I think the protesters were TOO reserved and should have USED their guns. He was an active shooter fleeing.
I have no doubt he tried to use that skateboard. I only wish he had connected, it would have saved a life.

The kid deserves torching (metaphorically). He went looking for trouble he could solve with his gun, and made some.

Sounds like Rosenbaum was shot for no reason, in the face. If kid had really thought he was being doused with an accelerant, (and it's hard to believe he mistook an empty bag for one full of gas) firing his gun was moronic as it would likely ignite it.

Yes, fully unbiased media would be nice, but it's gone. Maybe try pbs? They're still pretty good, but dry and boring too.

Mordhaus said:

@newtboy and my list doesn't show all of the media reports that are glossing things over. Like the ones saying that Huber was just holding a skateboard and trying to disarm Kyle, that Rosenbaum was just shot for no reason, that don't mention the 'peaceful protesters' carrying or firing guns, and so on.

I feel sorry for the kid because he is being torched by the media mob and he'll never have a shot at a fair jury trial. It would be nice if all media could take a second and do a MINIMUM of research like I did to find out all angles, THEN report fully. But they don't. Conservative media does one thing and the Liberal media does the other, neither tell the whole truth ever.

Police Who Murder Man In Public On Camera Fired

newtboy says...

I thought the same thing. No jury would convict you, and you would save a life.
Better might be to citizens arrest them both for attempted murder, meaning you have the right to kill them in the process if they fight. (Force used in a citizens arrest must be in line with the crime and only the amount needed to subdue and hold them)

Thanks for the P and Q

Plane Crash and Rescue from the Quebec Wilderness

Payback says...

This. This is why I never have any sympathy for the "hikers" who go out onto the ass end of nowhere without even a GPS. This guy even spent the money to get the whole-plane parachute. Which, I might add, is why he got home that day, and not have become a statistic. Although I wish he had noted the first shots were file footage of the emergency chute tests, not of his actual plane that day. Internet People are not known for their intelligence.

Sat phones can be rented pay-per-use, for virtually nothing. If you don't use it, it's a pittance. If something happens, broken leg, whatever, emergency crews can come straight to you.

I have no problem whatsoever with the government saving your life. That's what it's there for. My issue is with the huge searches due to adult "victims" negligence and stupidity.

Yes, but I'm not under the delusion that anyone would pay to read my ramblings. Funny enough, my first job was at a publishing company, editing text books when I was 13.

I broke my back....twice....and had partial paralysis for years. Norco gave me opioid induced hypersensitivity, which increased my pain levels insanely. Getting off them was scary, but decreased my pain levels from a daily minimum of 6/10 (equivalent to putting a nail through your foot, which I've done more than once) to a normal maximum of 5/10 (equivalent to putting a nail 1/2 inch into your foot, which I do a few times a year)....but now I'm pushing 50 with no recent work record besides "house husband".
Also, I cannot sell myself to save my life....and no one's clamoring to buy/rent me.

What Happens To Good Cops?

BSR says...

Have you forgiven the cop that put a gun to your head and saved your life and his by not pulling the trigger?

I wonder where he is today and if he truly regrets and is sorry for his actions at that time. It's been awhile hasn't it?

To forgive him would show that you learned something on that day.

If you're lucky maybe he did too and both of you can stop lugging that heavy weight around with you.

If nothing else it would free you from the jail that he did lock in.

He gave you his anger. That makes two bad cops.

He is your Moby Dick.

newtboy said:

So, you think, with no training, no equipment, no pay, and no oversight, I should become an armed vigilante, a punisher, and that somehow addresses police corruption? What?

Police don't do those kinds of studies, why should I? They don't address corruption a bit.

Why?

Not a bit motivated to do meaningless busy work at your whim.
You do a study, it has nothing to do with solving police corruption and abuse, why would I?

Since it's your field, how about you do a study on how often police are given a pass on felonies that would put anyone else in prison. Then do another showing how often they get away with crimes that would cost anyone else their net worth. Then do one examining what happens to cops that turn in criminal cops. Then do a study about what happens to cops that threaten other cops off the force. Have your studies verified, repeated, and published, then if you aren't in prison on trumped up charges I'll give you that atta boy you didn't offer me before explaining what a waste of time that was.

Not a bit sure what your point could be. Cops do some needed work, so give all their crimes and abuses a pass?
What are you saying? Nothing rational or helpful that I discern.

Sounds like ' You need farmers to feed us all, so let them use deadly poisons and sell deadly, contaminated, even fake food without repercussions, or consider the implications of having no farmers.' Deep.....to a gnat.

Where Are These "Good Cops" I Hear About?

BSR says...

This is not about what he seeks or doesn't seek. It's about the false satisfaction you may feel about harming or killing another person as punishment.

I don't think people "deserve" to die because that's already written into the program for all of us. I do think people should live with what they've done.

I would not hesitate to kill someone or give my life if it was my only choice to save a life or relieve the pain of a leg cramp. I look at it from a "First Aid" point of view. If you can't remove the victim from the danger, remove the danger from the victim.

Once the danger is eliminated or contained, punishment teaches nothing except to respect or fear that which can kick your ass. Which, after all was the goal to begin with in this case. Punishment is only meant for the pleasure of the punisher. Nothing more.

Killing someone as a form of punishment only makes you a killer. If that's your dream then you are in the right place to do it. But I think there are better dreams to be had. Don't dream it, be it.
