"Stupidity of American Voter," critical to passing Obamacare

Trancecoach says...

Apparently there's yet another Gruber video. (There could be a Gruber Film Festival!)

("OMG!") Fox gets flack for, you know, exposing Democrats like Pelosi, but it's she who now claims that she doesn't know who Gruber is, despite invoking him many times in the campaigning for the bill's passage.

At least Gruber tells the truth about ACA just being another tax on "the people."

“So basically it's the same thing,” he said. “We just tax the insurance companies, they pass on higher prices that offsets the tax break we get, it ends up being the same thing. It's a very clever, you know, basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter.”

That's the truth also about, "tax the rich," or "tax corporations." Corporations will just pass on the cost to "consumers." Tax anyone always means tax "the people." But the masses of "the American voter," like voters anywhere it seems, or at least the "progressive ones," for whatever reason don't understand that. There is no "free" government service. No "free" education. No "free" housing. Someone will pay for it and more likely than not those at the bottom will pay for it.

EDIT:
There's at least 7 Gruber videos now.

"It’s one thing for Americans to suspect that their President lies to them. It’s quite another to hear a key Obama adviser boast of it." (Videosift pundits disagree, of course.)

From the Washington Post :

"Obama also insisted repeatedly that the individual mandate “is absolutely not a tax increase.” In a 2009 interview with ABC News, George Stephanopoulos pressed him on it no less than five times. He even read Obama the definition of “tax” from Webster’s dictionary. Obama was adamant: “My critics say everything is a tax increase. . . . I absolutely reject that notion.”

"Then, after Obamacare passed, his administration cynically turned around and argued before the Supreme Court that it was in fact a tax. At one point, Justice Samuel Alito asked Obama’s solicitor general, Donald Verrilli, “why do you keep saying tax?,” drawing peals of laughter."

"The reason he called it a tax is because — as Jonathan Gruber now admits — members of the Obama team knew all along that it was a tax. They intentionally deceived Americans about it because if they had called it a tax, Obamacare would never have become law."

* * *

All of these videos, of course, make little difference to the partisan Democrats, not unlike partisan Republicans when they get exposed. But they do make a difference with the "independents" who decide elections: the ones who can vote one way or the other. So the Democrats can expect for this to continue until the next election.

Good things to know: The "anti- commandeering doctrine."

true romance-gary oldman and his iconic character drexl

Grimm says...

This is a great movie. Slater is the star and the glue that holds this movie together....but it's filled with some of the best scenes some of our greatest actors with rolls so small they are borderline cameo roles.

Samuel Jackson and Gary Oldman, this one with Slater and Oldman, Walken and Hopper, Brad Pitt and Gandolfini , Gandolfini and Arquette, Chris Penn and Tom Sizemore.

It didn't do well at the box office because they didn't know how to market the movie.

Reporter mistakes Samuel L Jackson for Laurence Fishburn!

I thought he was confused because he was prepared to talk about Captain America and/or Robocop, which he was fairly sure played in the super bowl (and reportedly right before the interview), but Samuel acted like there was NO commercial, and was already pissed off about it instantly, making the host second guess himself/his staff. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how it looked to me.
I certainly didn't hear a pause there. It was more like..."I tell you what, (small pause), your working for marvel that super bowl commercial, did you get a lot of reaction to that superb owl commercial?
If he had said "I tell you what, your working for Kia that super bowl commercial, did you get a lot of reaction to that super bowl commercial?" I would be right there with those claiming he made a mistake. Since Samuel is in 2 Marvel movies, you might think he would have asked "Was I in a super bowl commercial?" instead of wrongly and angrily implying he was in NO super bowl commercial. (True, he did ask "what super bowl commercial?" and the host failed to answer, but Samuel also cut him off the rest of the interview so perhaps he was going to answer but didn't want to interrupt the already angry guest, or perhaps he's just a horrible interviewer).
(BTW, I've never seen this host, I don't mean to defend him if he IS a known racist, or if he admits it was a case of mistaken identity. I have not heard of either of these so far.)
I'm still sticking with my contention that Samuel made the mistake here unless the host admits he didn't know his guest, because that's how it looks to me, clearly.

...and wow, how did I not notice him saying "What Super bowl commercial?" with ROBOCOP glowing behind him?!? I guess Samuel forgot why he was there completely. BWAAAHAAAHAAA!

EDIT:I'm wondering, did Samuel maybe hear "...Working for CAR (muffled), the super bowl commercial..."? That would explain why he thought the question was about Kia. Hmmmm. That would explain a lot.

I dunno. He did say Marvel commercial and Marvel had nothing to do with the KIA ad, but at the same time he himself appears confused when Jackson takes offense. I think maybe he did have the two things mixed up in his head.

Good on both of them for making a routine interview far more entertaining.

EDIT: Nevermind, listening to it again, he clearly is talking about two different things--basically listing the things Jackson has done recently. His exact quote is:

I'll tell you what, you're working for Marvel, (pause) the Superbowl commercial--did you get a lot of reaction to that Superbowl commerical?

You know what?
Samuel L Jackson does kinda look like Laurence Fishburne. They've also played some similar roles (Morpheus, Mace Windu?)

Guess what else? Elijah Wood looks a bit like Tobey Maguire.

And Summer Glau looks like Olivia Wilde.

And Reese Witherspoon looks like ... well, pretty much every hollywood blond apparently.

People look like other people, and funnily enough, a huge defining factor in your look is your skin tone. I personally have often been compared with a young Harrison Ford*..... Billy Dee Williams.... not so much....

*not actually true.

...and in case my answer to this was too cryptic, the reason why I think he shouldn't do this is it makes Samuel the racist to instantly assume an (perceived) identity/filmography mistake about a black man by a white man is automatically due to racism.
Racism hurts minorities the most, so they have even MORE reason to not be racist themselves, and to not see it where it doesn't exist.

Hey! I never said he didn't have the right to be a troll. This is America, and you have the right to hate whoever the f*ck you want! You also have the right to be as stupidly or disingenuously wrong and to intentionally create untenable situations to milk in your favor (at someone else's expense). I have the right to say so and call you an asshat if I think you are one(especially if I have evidence to back me up).
My racist horse is fairly short.
I found his ranting hilarious and only slightly offending...does that somehow mean I can't call it race baiting if that's what I think it is? Perhaps it was unintentional, but I still say it was Samuel that jumped to racism, not the 'reporter' that said something racist.
SAMUEL DID 2 SUPERBOWL COMMERCIALS that he 'forgot' about...for Marvel. It was his answer "What commercial" that threw the host. He should have simply answered that question instead of looking stupidly offstage, but there was an obvious answer. Terrible host+terrible guest=ridiculous race baiting clip.
If I have the opportunity to crap on an obvious (to me) race baiter, why shouldn't I? To make race baiters feel better? Fuck them dude! ;-)
Bwaaahaahaahaa! Mainstream bullshitter! I may be a bullshitter, but buddy I'm so far from main stream I'm in the desert. ;-}
If you have to create the racism you're complaining about, you're the racist and a problem, funny or not, white or black, even if you're doing it for 'entertainment' or by mistake. That's all.

Samuel L. Jackson has every right to troll this man. And you know why? Because it's hilarious. Get off yer weird little racism high horse.

He doesn't have to come on this show, he's fucking Samuel L. Jackson, a person that gets paid to be hilarious, and might I add be hilariously offensive to mainstream bullshitters like yourself.

It's entertainment or did you forget that? If he has an opportunity to milk a social situation in his favor, he will. And why shouldn't he? To make white people feel better? Fuck you dude.
