Chop Suey in Rock Band 2 on Real Drums with the Omega GM-1

westy says...

Why is this not live music ? if sum one was playing the drums from sheet music with a tape recording of the other instruments they are doing exactly the same thing.

its a shame you cannot get a pro version of rock band or say piano hero that would basically teach you how to use the instrument properly.

If you wanted to be a mindless automaton and just play other peoples music then why not?

Vagina Panther-Dave You are Killing Me

lesserfool says...

They are an ILLEGAL rock band!! I didn't know that was possible... so awesome.
From their web site:

Vagina Panther is illegal Rock Band from Brooklyn

The New VP Video, “Dave You are Killing Me” was conceived and directed by the reclusive New York directorial collective: Satan’s Pearl Horses (http://satanspearlhorses.com/). Shot over 2 months, in a magical closet at a Greenpoint Brooklyn Townhouse, the team used state of the art tron robots to animate the video. “Dave, You’re Killing Me”, finds the band frolicking in an enchanted forest and through using the power of film, magic, mirrors, awesome, peace, war, love, hate, and stop-motion –their alter-egos come to life, turning the members of Vagina Panther into juicy, pulsating, dancing, gyrating crotch monsters. This is some serious shit.

Suzi Quatro: Stumblin' In.

Sagemind says...

"Stumblin' In", a duet recorded in 1978 for RSO Records with Chris Norman of the band Smokie reached a #4 peak in the U.S.

She is known in the United States for her role as Leather Tuscadero on the TV show Happy Days. Show producer Garry Marshall offered the role without an audition after seeing her on his daughter's bedroom wall. Leather was the younger sister of Fonzie's girlfriend, hot-rod driver Pinky Tuscadero. Leather fronted an all-girl rock band joined by principal character Joanie Cunningham. The character returned in other cameo roles, including once for a date to a fraternity formal with Ralph Malph. Marshall offered Quatro a Leather Tuscadero spin-off, but she refused, saying she did not want to be typecast.

see, your logic fails to explain contradictions.
but when i say jesus made them that way, it's perfectly logical and acceptable.
therefore, god wins.

Therefore God Wins is going to be the name of my Christian rock band, if I ever start one.

I'm not a huge Zeppelin fan, but this song is one of the rockingest ever. Too bad devil horns hadn't been invented yet, they were made for this song.

Hi! I know you posted this comment long ago, and possibly learned otherwise since (or more probably don't really care), but first use of 'devil horns', or cornu, was a year or two prior to this audio - the Satanic-themed heavy rock band, Coven, are seen displaying the cornu on the inside gatefold sleeve of their debut album: Witchcraft Destroys Minds And Reaps Souls.

Possibly interesting trivia: a member of this band is named Oz Osbourne, and the same debut album I referred to above contains a track titled, 'Black Sabbath'. Further, there exists a photograph of one Charles Manson exiting a record store with the very same album tucked beneath his arm, and it is believed that it was played during many LSD fueled orgies at Spahn Ranch.

Robot Plays Guitar Hero 'Cliffs of Dover' on Expert

dannym3141 says...

If i'd built a guitar hero/rock band robot, i know i wouldn't be releasing videos until it could FC a song.

God damn amateur robot stinking up cliffs of dover expert. That means i'm better than all robots cos i've FC'd this.

I accept this victory on behalf of mankind and our superior manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination.

The indie rock band Modest Mouse is getting the royal treatment from Bent Image Lab’s new director/partner Nando Costa. Just completed, the band’s new music video is a dark and expressive piece of film-making. Heavily rooted in live-action, the impressive six-minute video includes intense moments of stop motion, visual effects, and motion graphics techniques, all brought to life within the studio’s walls.

The visuals follow an artist who enters his personal sanctuary where he is presented with a hand-crafted drawing tool that assists him in materializing his mental impressions. Through drawing circular patterns, the machine discharges an endless web of yarn that guides him through his visual representations of his memories. The story progresses to reveal that he is divided between two worlds, one of dull reality and the second of warped memories. In the process of finding a way out of his consciousness, he is trapped between the two competing spaces, which eventually inflict lethal damage, acting as metaphors to self-destruction.

This lyrical and moving piece was conceived by Nando Costa working closely with lead singer/guitarist Isaac Brock to polish some of the film's intricacies. Featuring a seamless combination of live-action and stop motion that alternates between stage shots of Modest Mouse and a spiraling dream-like world of ever-shifting landscapes, Whale Song is a stunning representation of the combined capabilities of Nando and Bent. The variety and execution of the VFX portions of the video – from yarn reeling into complex patterns to a guitar that plays with no musician attached – strongly evoke the confused and surreal patterns of one's warped memories. Additional creative touches such as animated and intricate photographic collages and giant CG snails sliding across the band's stage – add variety and depth to the surreal world.

Then Beatles Rock Band - Sgt. Pepper

Croccydile says...

Just like Rock Band 1 & 2, the models are stiff as a board and make Keanu Reeves look like George C. Scott. But really one never really pays attention to them unless you are watching from the side since your eyes are focused on not losing.

What really sucks though is they left out a few key/good songs in order to add them later as for-pay DLC. Hooray for the modern business model of releasing an incomplete game in order to get you to pay more later.

But, its the Beatles, so I'll upvote.

Zero Punctuation: Beatles Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5

I own the beatles rock band.

It's actually well worth it in my opinion. He does hit some points on the head, There's definitely a steep curve when it comes to dificulty in certain venues but that's because you're supposed to be playing songs they would have played in that stage of their career.

The first few venues are nothing special, its nice to see the set of Ed Sullivan or the Cavern, but where it REALLY starts to shine is the Abby Road studio. The backdrop is something you'd expect to see out of "Yellow Submarine" and most of the time they're in their Sergent Peppers clothing.

I personally love it.

While Beatles Rock Band is the first one of the games to ever make me consider buying one of these there are a couple of issues for me:
The game, with controllers (drums etc.) costs MORE THAN THE CONSOLE I would play it on (Wii)... that's insane.
I fully agree with his last comment about pressing coloured buttons in time with a moving instruction sheet.

The only reason to buy the entire set would be for the drums and even those are a bit half-assed. The drums do make for an interesting game, though.
