Wow, I really must be getting old. Why is society becoming so horrified by physical violence? If you grab someone like this, getting punched out is not an escalation of violence, but an appropriate deterrent.

As for between men and women, I think this is a situation where you have to be willing to offend the extreme feminists by observing that men and women although equal, are also different. A 115lb women assaulted by a 170lb man warrants a different response than a 170lb man assaulted by a 115lb woman. IMO, the larger stronger man can more easily afford to warn the woman to not repeat the offence prior to a physical response. It also seems to me that society disagrees and thinks they should be considered and handled identically, but I think society has that wrong.

The window panes are political quadrants. The lower right corner is punched out, indicating the man is anarcho-capitalist. The lamp is tilted toward the newspaper to bring light upon the Sri Lankan Civil War, which was set off by an ambush the day after this comic was published. (That's why the newspaper is blank. Nothing newsworthy compared to the following days/week.) The meat on the table symbolizes the impending carnage, as thousands would die, and 150,000 made homeless.

I've seen people punch out and shatter windows in road rage attacks. Perhaps they were wearing rings, I'm not sure. But if some angry bozo can do it, I don't see why an angry 400 pound lion can't.

To reiterate, I'm not defending the father for leaving his kid in the car or punching out the window. He went way out of control and I'm not on board with that kind of uncivilized behavior. He should have sat in the car and silently stewed.

So I watched the video and I read the comments, and I wouldn't call this a hate crime. However I would label this gang violence. Now even if these people that did this aren't affiliated with any given popular gang it is still an organized attempt to commit a crime. You can not claim ignorance in the fact that this was all planned and placed together all at once for the purpose of stealing this mans wallet. The man went after his wallet to get it back, and then received a punch to the face. This was a violent response for wanting his property back. So please by all means anyone who says that this was crap please go some where you feel threatened, alone, get robbed and punched out, and see if you aren't ready to fight about it too. Any man can be just friends with any woman. It just requires "self-control". People who think otherwise have none, or lack character.

Ever been angry enough (that without self control) you wanted to punch out a friend? Does that make him/her your enemy?

Same goes the other way. If you respect the person enough to call them a friend, those urges are just that.

Also, you shouldn't fear the opposite gender friends of your "significant other". If there is a danger of him/her ending up with one of those friends, you obviously made a mistake to begin with. It's not the friend's fault, it's your partner's.
