Army Rangers SMOKED Some Crips in 1989

newtboy says...

Nobody got “smoked”, there were no injuries at all. Why the lie, @bobknight33? Why must you ALWAYS lie?

Curious why this 34 year old story is suddenly everywhere on right wing media and websites…and why they aren’t mentioning how it’s evolved over the years.
Is it an effort to poeticize a vigilante group as an example? They didn’t call police in the day long buildup to the shootout, nor immediately when it started, and they intentionally antagonized and threatened the neighbors they accused (without proof) of being gang members and shot up their house.

In 89 “lying in wait” was a death penalty offense in California…I guess not even a crime in Washington? They admitted they did exactly that.

Foulk said to 48 Hours in 1990 that he had told the Rangers to avoid hitting anyone and they followed instructions, not hitting anyone. In 2009, Foulk said to The News Tribune that one Ranger had in fact winged someone who charged the house. In 2022, he said to Fox 13 Seattle that the Rangers shot multiple people (no one ever went to any hospital with a gunshot). The story keeps growing every time he tells it.

Two men fitting descriptions given by the rangers were arrested on outstanding warrants and one later charged in connection to the shooting, and he received only one conviction, and only of second-degree assault. Neither lived across the street at the house the rangers shot to hell.
Many of the rangers lost their guns and Foulk says he was denied promotion as a result of the publicity caused by the shootout and that other Rangers were forbidden from visiting his home.

Downvoting this apparent attempt to glamorize what was a clear vigilante group that should have had much worse consequences than losing their guns and promotions.

I'd love to see that bit of poetic justice, but it won't happen. The Democrats don't have quite enough sociopaths in power to teach such a harsh lesson. The GQP, on the other hand...

Joe Biden On Masks: ‘Not About Being A Tough Guy,’

newtboy says...

Of the near 210000 deaths, >181000 would have been saved, never infected, if everyone had worn masks and the "lockdown" was actually implemented two weeks earlier and was followed.

Trump's "nothing burger" claims and "wear a mask if you want, or not" and slow reactions, lack of concern, complaints about states that did lockdown, and contradictory messages directly caused >90% of all cases and deaths according to the CDC before he removed the real scientists and replaced them with Trump spokesmen who only repeat Trump, not science or facts. Politicizing the CDC is criminal.

Now, if Trump hadn't defunded and disbanded the international pandemic team Obama put in place, the virus likely wouldn't have made it out of China, making all deaths on American soil direct results of Trump's insecurity and inability to lead. Had he used the pandemic plan Obama left that they ignored and claimed didn't exist through June, America might have had a few cases, but not an epidemic. Trump's idiocy, his 80 IQ that seems genius to your ilk, caused it. It's poetic justice it's likely to take him down.

Btw, dumb shit, non n95 masks don't protect the users, they just help control the spread. Not a bit surprised you don't understand....but 3rd graders can.

Side note....you might notice, Trump is on a huge cocktail of drugs, vitamins, and anti viral medications, but not hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine. Why not, @bobknight33? He's pushed it for months as a perfect cure, but won't take it himself. Don't tell me he lied about it's efficacy and safety!
Also, his doctors admitted he's been on them for 72 hours as of Sat morning, so they've known he's infected since Wednesday morning but he still handed out maga caps with bare hands at rallies and pressed the flesh indoors with his major donors during the most infectious period of his infection. He didn't care if he infected all of you....not....one....bit.

Trump and Melania Trump test positive for Covid-19

newtboy says...

It's apparently spreading through the Whitehouse like a California wildfire in an unraked national forest, and sounds like in the Senate too....at least one segment of the senate. Good thing for them it's just a hoax, one big nothing burger.
Reports are Hope tested positive Wed morning, but Trump still held an intimate fundraiser with top donors Wednesday evening knowing he had been exposed. Now, with his campaign out of money, he's put his biggest donors at high risk, and they are mostly elderly too, a high risk category.

Trump is in at least 3 high risk categories. Elderly, obese, and with heart conditions.

Two words seem to sum up the irony of the "nothing burger" president contracting and personally super spreading the virus that he's downplayed in every way since the outbreak......poetic justice.

Antifa thugs behind Andy Ngo disgusting bashing

Drachen_Jager says...

Andy Ngo is a liar. Multiple times on different platforms he's spread outright lies. When he got fired for telling lies, he turned around and wrote an article titled, "Fired for Reporting the Truth".

As far as I can tell, he's never been entirely honest about anything he's presented in the media.

He is not a journalist. Journalists may be biased about the stories they choose to tell and the slant they put on those stories, but there must be some attempt at honesty, or it's just rabble rousing, and inciting to violence. He incites others to do violence upon Muslims regularly through his lies, so wouldn't it be poetic justice if he received some of his own back?

In any case, the guy's so dishonest it wouldn't surprise me at all if the attack was staged in an attempt to raise his profile in conservative circles. And if that turns out to be the case, are you going to apologize for spreading these lies, @bobknight33 ?

Somehow I doubt it. You have about as much honesty as Ngo does.

The Day Jesus Returns

Sagemind says...

Well, in the first few seconds, although this all sounds very poetic...

The moon does not "give light" it reflects light, so if there was an eclipse, then this would mean there would be no sun to reflect, so although partially true. these are both the same point.

And I can assure you the stars will not fall from the sky. You can tell this was written before we knew that stars were actually just distant suns. So written out of ignorance.

So this prophesy immediately looses credibility.

After that it just falls to creative writing all based on the natural occurrence of a solar eclipse. That's it. An eclipse. Someone in ancient times used a natural occurrence to evoke fear and sow seeds of of a story because people were uneducated and didn't know what it was.

Today we know what an eclipse is. We're educated, so why do people still fall for these stories. they're obviously written out of ignorance (unknowing) of what is now common knowledge.

@shinyblurry, I respect your personal religion. I endorse your need to believe in something to give you strength where you are weak. But educate yourself. Don't listen to this rhetoric and outdated nonsense. Be smart. I know you're an educated man. Don't hide behind this obvious and poorly written prose.
And definitely, don't sow this stuff to others. It just makes you look ignorant to educated people. You have a brain, and if you believe in a god, then you need to believe you were given a brain to use it. So do some thinking for yourself. You and your family will benefit from the use of a little intelligence.

I'm not saying you can't believe in your God. I'm just saying don't forsake intelligence. And if you can't engage in intelligent conversation, then don't preach using rhetoric created by people who where uneducated.

(EDIT: Sorry to be blunt. Sometimes we need blunt. I'm not trying to be mean. I've been learning that sometimes blunt is the only way to get through to stubborn people. I myself am stubborn - but smart enough to see, when pointed out, my errors in what I may think of this world - we are here to live and to learn, lets engage our brains).

Maybe you won't only lose your job, but can also be berated off the internet, ostracized by friends and neighbors, and publicly shamed for decades, and denied employment, then have others talk about you as if nothing happened and you deserve worse.
As our local racist race baiter, it would be poetic justice.....

I totally agree, it would be poetic justice for the immigrant haters to have to live without them...I just don't want to have to do it too just because I'm a total honkey.
Can't we just offer them a white supremacist only state and have them all move there, then close the borders and build that wall? ;-)

Perhaps I am being obtuse but I feel that one of us, or perhaps both of us, are not understanding the other.

A parallel: After Brexit there was some rather ugly anti-immigrant stuff flying around. "Polish vermin" etc. I did, in my bitterness, fantasise about a UK without immigrants because it would be such deliciously ironic justice. I mean, in reality I'd have my Polish friends and a country that actually functions rather than "I told you sos" and packing bags... but still, sometimes I do wish lessons would be learned the only way some will ever learn them.

Why Is A Group Of Crows Called A “Murder”?

eric3579 says...

I like to think this (although scene would be better with more child murder)
but PBS says:
What’s a murder of crows?
A group of crows is called a “murder.” There are several different explanations for the origin of this term, mostly based on old folk tales and superstitions.

For instance, there is a folktale that crows will gather and decide the capital fate of another crow.

Many view the appearance of crows as an omen of death because ravens and crows are scavengers and are generally associated with dead bodies, battlefields, and cemeteries, and they’re thought to circle in large numbers above sites where animals or people are expected to soon die.

But the term “murder of crows” mostly reflects a time when groupings of many animals had colorful and poetic names.

The Trouble With The Electoral College; Cities, Metro Areas

TheFreak says...

It does seem like poetic justice if Trump won because of the electoral college and then the electoral college did what they were designed to do and did not award him the presidency.

That's too good a story twist not to happen.
