Obama's Message To American Indians

13515 says...

No offense but that's the biggest bunch of PR bull I've seen him do in addressing minorities yet. (I'm all for helping my Sioux people and all other nations but this...) He's just like the rest who really doesn't give a darn on what's happening on American Indian lands...

Here's a man who is trying to win votes and can't even solve his own problems. Go to youtube and check out a man named Philip J. Berg, Esquire, [Berg is a former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania; former candidate for Governor and U.S. Senate in Democratic Primaries; former Chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County; former member of Democratic State Committee; an attorney with offices in Montgomery County, PA and an active practice in Philadelphia, PA.

Beyond that... the democratic candidate is in favor of putting a hold on development of agricultural lands and production, natural resource developments, extractions and implementation and a so called reduction on the "US's importation of foreign gas and oil"?? Anyone who looks at the statistics can see for themselves that the largest exporter to the US on oil and gas is Alberta, Canada... so what's going to happen to all those employed in Alberta if he puts a "pause" to it so he can re-evaluate and lean more towards "middle eastern oils" because they are "cheaper", or has he already made promises he's not sure he can keep to other foreign leaders?

What about Crow Agency, Montana wanting to develop their own coal mine and profit from their mineral rights to improve education, healthcare and tribal lands?...

The Great VideoSift Coming -Out Thread (Happy Talk Post)

Enzoblue says...

My name is Jeff, I'm in my early 40's and I live in South Central PA, USA.

Irony is my enemy.

I'm the best father I know. My kids adore me and are jealous of my time. I take them and the neighborhood kids everywhere, let them off their leashes and let them go, but have a firm hand that sets limits that they don't even think about defying. They have so much fun their faces get sore from smiling.

IRONICALLY none of the kids are mine, their my brothers. He can't be bothered with them half the time and is grateful for me. Same with the neighborhood fathers, they let me have them anytime I want. When they have a bad day they come tome and I take them out for ice cream.

My girl and I do everything together. She has two kids and they both love me madly - we go on day outings to the pool, Philadelphia, museums etc, spend a lot of time at her mother's house - her whole family loves me and almost cheer when they see me. We both enjoy simple pleasures like sitting in a car and talking or just walking together in the neighborhood on yard sale days. People comment on good we are together and tell her how lucky she is.

IRONICALLY she's married to a guy that literally lives in her basement and does nothing but bring home paychecks and fuck her twice a month. Her family dislikes him. She say's it's a perfect marriage because he stays out of her way - she even has me go on week long family vacations with her and the kids because she say's it's no fun with him. I've never even kissed her.

I have a 130-ish IQ and love a good conversation. I love studying things that I don't understand and am relentless in my search for knowledge.

IRONICALLY I work in a factory making mouse traps with co-workers that complain when I use too big words and consider me a freak because I don't like football. If the conversation strays from gas prices or the last drinking binge, their eyes glaze over.

I dream of leaving, but the sheer joy keeps me rooted.

First commercial to feature gays - ran once in 1994 by IKEA

shuac says...

Complete this thought, if you please, for shits'n'giggles (apologies to non-Americans):

In today's American culture, gays are being treated similarly to blacks of which time period?

1890's
1910's
1930's
1950's
1970's

The people who downvoted this sift did so because they are the segregationists of yesterday: separate drinking fountains, waiting areas, bus seats, etc. But here's the rub: the segregationists of yesterday were in the majority at the time (read: in the right). Just like today with gays. It's accepted that gay people should not have certain rights that straight people have.

There are those of you "heads of knuckle" who will try to claim that I'm saying you believe gays should be segregated. No. That's not what I'm saying. I'm talking about the likelihood that you would consider a gay person to be as much of a human being as a straight person.

You're free to dispute my premise but the fact is that public opinion changes very slowly. For instance, the American south is still wary of "northerners" because of the civil war and I'm not sure that'll ever go away.

During the Philadelphia Convention of 1787, it was decided, for enumeration purposes regarding both the distribution of taxes and the apportionment of the members of the United States House of Representatives, that slaves would count as three-fifths of a person.

So, to the downvoters, what ratio would you assign to a homosexual?

When Sharks fly (no sound)

Shepppard says...

Heh, reminds me of a tour guide in Philadelphia, he was talking about the new aquarium in Jersey, and how they have a huge shark tank in it. to quote him:

"I can't go there, I'd be too tempted to tap the glass and say 'Ha ha, natures most efficient predator, you can't get me!' And they would find a way to prove me wrong."

You're right.. that is a great speech.. I'm watching all parts.. It would be particularly a great thing if you could make a custom player with all parts included... if you need info on how to do this I can show you.

In case you don't catch sight of this speech in the queue, I think it's quite good and worth a view:
