I fully agree. There's obviously an agenda, which I find boring, and no filter for obvious fake stories or misrepresentation (not saying that's the case here, I didn't watch this post) which I see as lying to support that agenda. I hate that, no matter what the topic. It's an admission that they need to lie and exaggerate because the truth just isn't bad enough to make their point.

My solution, just ignore any video he posts with a "racism" or "institutional racism" tag or a 'look at this racism' title, don't even view it, forget voting for it, that only encourages the behavior. Well over 1/2 of them are at best misrepresentations of fact, bending over backwards to make everything, from being called out for rudely breaking the law (bbq Becky, watergirl) to basic physics (racist faucets), racist.
There's been far too much crying wolf for me to believe he even sees dogs, and the more he cries, the less I believe wolves still exist....particularly sad since I was a sheep dog on the lookout for wolves before he came along.

I still gladly view and vote for videos he posts on other topics.

I just love the passionate way historians talk. Especially when they're not talking about their specialist subject - like when Dr. Finkel is promoting the youtube channel.

No one in their right mind goes into careers like history, the sciences, or academia for the money (not that I'm accusing historians of being in their right mind), so the ones that get comfortable but keep working are inspiring.

She was passionately in favor of her own ideas about capitalism, reason, science, and her own individual rights as opposed to a functioning society, philosophical debate, actual science and other peoples rights.

It is strange how people mention her as inspiration offhandedly, basically that is like saying "you know there is this rather clever idea in Mein Kampf" because her whole work is pointed in the direction of "being an asshole is good for you" (which is really pretty obvious, is it not?). A functional society should be able to contain or expel assholes. Ayn being taken seriously is a warning sign.

But that is because the movie is so bad to begin with. I hate dubs with a passion because most often the voice does not match the actor like originally intended by the director. Also in the case of japan animations, voice acting is a highly competitive career market over there which means there are many top tier actors to choose from. Liscensed dubs on the other hand deal with a lot of frequently contracted actors in a market that isn't bursting with talent.

Also the plot of this animation seems pretty ridiculous. I would have let the batman and joker pass but when everyone else in the batman universe, even the god damn butler, showes up I was like

The CBC has a show called the Passionate Eye and they did and episode on re-evaluating the intelligence of animals. Essentially, a group of biologists and psychologists said we need to reclassify how we structure intelligence. Make it a tiered system with the top tier containing Humans/Primates, Elephants, Dolphins/Whales, a certain species of crow, and octopi. =)

I have watched this so many times now, it is such a great celebration of human passion and ingenuity.

I hate bad or selfish parking myself with a passion but in this case she just may have over compensated for the railing and judging by how empty the lot looks it probably didn't seem like a big deal to her at the time.
Either way it's not like she parked in the center of 2 spots which is the one that gets me.

Stop caring about votes. Comment on what you are passionate about. Submit videos that moved you to joy, happiness, sadness, rage, anger or bliss.

In addition to sifting videos you are passionate about, sift videos that you think others will like. And don't share videos from your own youtube channel or you will be banned

It seems I'm an outlier in my opinion then. I don't agree that one second after I said "no" that constitutes rape anymore than my wife grinding into me a few more times when I tell her something similar because I'm seeing cracks in the damn that are going to cause a tidal wave.

To be clearer, I'm laying out a definition argument. I don't feel rape should be defined that way. You can't interlock two sweaty bodies and reasonably expect to constantly have a hand hovering over an ejector seat button.

I'm uncertain about what exactly rape should be defined as, but, in spite of me feeling that what happened to me was an outcome I explicitly didn't want; at some point during the initial physical union of the male and female genitalia, permissions about what is suddenly okay or not okay with that intimate contact becomes EXTREMELY difficult to define. When two people seem to be working in tandem at that point, I assert that permission is intertwined and, as a result, confusing. (hence our debate)

It's because of that confusion that I'm so hesitant to assign blame for a miscalculation of affection/passion.

I get the theory, but that's just not how real life works. Telling people 'I may do "X, but you may not because you aren't the right race' is never an acceptable argument, won't get you much cooperation, nor does it show the proper disdain for that mindset that has been so disastrously used against minorities historically.

Edit: Also, this makes a HUGE mistake of thinking all black people agree, like they're all alike. That couldn't be farther from the truth, they are not unified on this issue, they, like everyone else, are diverse in their thinking.


If people insist on fairness and equality, they'll get far more support and far less opposition from fair minded people. Change the meaning of the word like we did with "fag" (now meaning Harley Davidson riders), sure, but not just for one group. Insisting on a double standard means they don't have a problem with double standards that work in their favor. That loses them the support of people who believe in equality and hate double standards with passion.

Uhhh... you are aware of the atrocities Japanese soldiers committed less than a century ago during WWII, right? And I think you're confusing psychopaths (who may or may not be violent) with those suffering from a psychosis (a complete mental break with reality).

Either way, mental illness is a huge problem in Japan and in fact treatment of mental illness is one area where their socialized medicine is sorely lacking behind other countries.

I don't know of any credible studies that say that mental illness rates are lower in Japan than in other developed countries, but I do know that the overwhelming majority of crimes in pretty much any country are actually committed by people who are legally sane.

So, despite what you may believe, "genetic" predisposition is an unlikely factor in explaining Japan's crime rate. Besides which, criminologists agree that whatever role genetics plays in people becoming criminals it isn't nearly the most important factor and is dwarfed by environmental factors (see this for a scholarly article on the topic and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-29760212>this for a popular news article).

You're trying to paint this as two equal parts of the recipe for crime when in reality it's more like "add two cups of environmental and a dash of genetics/personality/whatever."

Crime does happen here. The kinds of stuff I hear about on a daily basis in the news: crimes of desperation (homeless guy stealing to survive), thrill-seeking crimes (stealing a bike because you're young and stupid and the chances of getting caught are pretty low), crimes of passion (i.e. domestic violence, drunken bar fights, etc.), organized crime (i.e. yakuza), and the big one--sexual assault.

Sexual assault is so prevalent in Japan that there are actual signs warning women of areas where they are likely to be groped or have men expose themselves. There are train cars for women only so they don't have to get groped on the way to work or school. I mean, how fucked up is that?

So it isn't all rainbows and unicorns over here. Crime happens, and unfortunately is much more likely to happen to you if you're a woman. Still, even accounting for that the crime rates here are ridiculously low, for the reasons I stated above.
