Orlando Police Believe They’re Above The Law

newtboy says...

I really would agree….but only if that goes for everyone. No need to ever do a high speed chase or felony stop if you have the license and a photo of the driver….but that’s not how they operate.

Guaranteed if that wasn’t a cop, gun would be drawn, hands would go on, cuffs would go on, and in most cases feet would go into belly too for disrespecting their authority and trying to run. In no world would they be as calm and non confrontational with the public. I got all but the foot in the belly because a cop read my license plate wrong once, couldn’t tell a “5” from an “S”, then threatened me with unspecified retaliation if I complained…he said remember he had my address now if I cause him any trouble over this.

My point is the “good cop” gave the bad criminal cop treatment he never would give a citizen…if he did he would lose his job. It’s the preferential treatment I’m upset about. Criminal cops should be treated like the worst, most violent and vile criminal, because they are. Instead, they’re treated with kid gloves, given every benefit of a doubt and then some, and are given free vacation time on those few occasions they have anything at all happen for violating the law and the public trust. It’s an incredibly rare thing when the entire department doesn’t stand behind, and in front of shielding blatantly abusive criminal cops and attacking/harassing any accusers, which is chilling for any that might want to be “good cops”.

Why wouldn’t it be the right thing to do to let a violent aggressive and reckless speeder (in this case he was guilty of reckless evading, a felony) who is armed just scream at the cop and drive away? Because that’s shirking their duty to enforce the law. Have you ever heard of them doing any such thing (when it wasn’t one of their own)?

Bill Maher - Punching Nazis

transmorpher says...

You cannot assault people - not unless you are protecting yourself or another from immediate physical harm. And if it's not immediate, call the appropriate authority and let them handle it. THE END.

If you are so offended that you feel like you need to intervene, then politely ask why he is a nazi, and explain to him why it's wrong, challenge his views in a non-confrontional manner. It's as easy as saying "I don't agree with Nazi ideology because of XYZ" He's clearly in the wrong, so it shouldn't be hard to explain to him why.

Anything else means you are OK with living in a society where punching each other is an acceptable form of communication - leaving yourself and your loved ones open to the same treatment next time someone disagrees with one of your views.

Louis CK - "Apologize"

I'm saying that it's up to us to get over our non-confrontational ways and let people know we've been wronged - and demand acknowledgement. It's called living in a community, bitches.>> ^criticalthud:

>> ^dag:
The people who act callously are the ones who find it most difficult to say sorry and mean it. Saying sorry for them is forcing them to shine a lightt on their own faults. An empathetic person would not have done something like that in the first place - but if they did - would not have a problem with apologising.
Saying sorry and meaning it is how callous people become less callous.
>> ^criticalthud:
and the problem was not that the older girl didn't apologize. the problem is that she acted callously. as such, it was a perfect opportunity for the little girls to learn something useful.
here's how you handle it:
dad: hey girls - see how that girl just bumped into you because she wasn't paying attention to anything but herself?
Don't be like her.
and teaching your child to be aware of what proper etiquette is in a given culture is a far far different thing than teaching them to expect it.

so, you're going to demand that people feel a certain way, according to your expectations? good luck with that!!!!

Here they would arrest and sue the passenger for assaulting the guy with no ticket, and fire the employee for harassing a passenger who has found himself in a tough spot in life, unable to afford the fare.

Tbh, they would here as well, but the thing is that in the northern areas (and other select areas) of great britain (and you need to go further north each year sadly) people are a lot more what i guess you'd call "hard working, salt of the earth type people". People on the train would have just said "nah, he deserved it officer, no problem here" and the police would just go fair enough, lad's been a nobhead and justice has been served.
I mean even the people saying "there's no need for that" to the big guy when he slammed the guy down would still side with the big guy if it came to it, because they know the lad needs teaching a lesson. Hands-off softly softly parenting has given us a (my generation included) whole bunch of thoughtless twats who KNOW their actions have no consequences!
Love this kind of stuff. Honest, good people. Love em.

What in the living fuck are you babbling about tough guy? I'm sick of this "Salt of the earth hard working" Bullshit to describe Assholes who don't now how else to deal with their problems other than HIT THEM. I come from a family of Hicks with simple minds and hard working backgrounds...they don't go around beating the shit outa people they don't like just cause "That'll learn them."
Honest, good people...they're all a bunch of cunts.

The softly softly bullshit is the entire reason we have arrogant sub-30 year olds who are in no doubt of the fact that, at school, at home, in court, they do not need to fear consequences. Teachers hands are tied behind their fucking backs more every year that goes by. The system has been changed so much by people like you that kids have been given the CONFIDENCE to say to a teacher "what the fuck are you gonna do, you can't do anything to me, i'll sue you." Add to that absentee/non confrontational parenting at home and suddenly they think they're untouchable AND THEY'RE FUCKING RIGHT.
This kid needed teaching from a young age that doing something bad has consequences, and unfortunately little kids can't learn that through talking it out. A few short and non-painful lesson at age 4 would have saved this kid from the slam he took on the train. I hate these shitty parenting values, and we'll surely end up mired in shit if people like you have your way. Kid misbehaving - "please stop doing that, it's not faiiiiiiirrrrr" - that'll surely work right?
I'm honest, fair and certainly not a violent person. I do not advocate violence. Unfortunately, this kid was let down by his parents who failed to teach him the right lesson at the right time. And more unfortunately, the only way he's gonna learn is to get his arsed kicked when he's ~20. But hopefully getting his arsed kicked due to being a dick on a train will save an old lady from getting her handbag snatched because a little twat thinks he's untouchable.
"Tough guy?" "Cunt?" Get a fucking grip, there was absolutely no need to talk to me like that. You're worse than that little twat on the train!
BTW: do you find it in ANY way ironic that you came in advocating softly-softly yet swear and call me names, but i who advocate teaching the little turd a lesson have to rise above your insults and name calling? Is that a good way to advocate your method? I hope you learn something from that at least. You bloody well need to.

I tolerate much more than you know-civility is returned when *exhibited-my values and tastes are never going to be the same as others, and that is ok-Not trying to change anybody, just keep them thinking....or in some folks cases, get them to thinking that what they think, May be deleterious to their souls....

Only one thing I trouble myself to overcome.....-non-confrontation and timely engagement-to ignore is incivility at it's petty worst.

Perhaps here again is the proper time to address the issue and have NR respond, rather than ignore, which is the coward's lot until told to do what is required to get a bedroll free of lice and a white-bread sandwich..

Is NR spamming news bullshit for fun, passion, or motherfucking profit, and are dag and lucky in collusion??....happened before with fedwhip and he tucked-tail and ran once the jig was up.

You get checks from Maddow there NR? Or are you simply as delusional as they come?? Oh and, people who avoid confrontation?? Probably don't know how to use utensils properly and have piss-poor grooming habits as well. And what the fuck is up with that whiter than white Max Headroom rip-off....neat-o software!!??

Glen Beck is as much a diversion as Maddow-same team, different uniforms and spiel. Both designed to divide and conquer your slow-basted minds with meaningless drivel.

Why do you think i sent the goddamn Olbermann to the file 86?? Old news is no news, and new news is there to confuse. If we use the Videosift as a microcosmic barometer of the direction the world is headed, well, we can always hope for an asteroid to do the hard work for us lazy folks.

Nice vid wankers, you guys really put some work into that one....usete same model for your tee-virus, and offer selections in anything but white....and burn the program you guys use to make the designs...

the reason i pasted the channel description was to try and mitigate semantic debate. we could go back and forth for a long time talking about the etymology of the word and its various meanings, both positive and negative... but i was hoping to cut to the chase by pointing out that the description itself is clear on what's appropriate.

then again, maybe it's not clear enough? it's always an effort to come up with an appropriate inclusive phrase without being too inclusive. generally i see 'the community' use things like "LGBT" but people even have problems with that.

i guess at some level "cheesiness" (which to me is a combination of funny and terrible) being equated with homosexuality is offensive, but it's nothing compared to some of the infractions others have made. i let them slide by because i'm generally non-confrontational (seriously) and sometimes i know the person is not a homophobe, they're just doing what a lot of people do and using the term as a kind of pseudo-insult, a comedic jab (and i think that is a more serious issue than most people want to think it is).

i guess i should just remain quiet, i don't expect to persuade anyone to change.

Why do we even have a down vote? (Sift Talk Post)

quantummushmind, you are playing into the same hands as the "liberals" (otherwise known as a convenient label for anything) you think are your enemies.....If you haven't already guessed, and ya frikkin' haven't, the mindfuck is perpetrated on both teams, if you simply must call it either or....

The liberal agenda, the conservative agenda.....picture it like those who control all of us do-

Two teams from the same school. A game invented, and believed, representative government.
The reality??? Iran is next, perhaps N.Korea, but the back-up plans are an alternative to these, as the machine, which is what we should be hating, draws their strength and ability to control, by putting these teams on the field, and drawing the otherwise sensible mob, that care about meaningful and lasting solutions, into an arena of contrived bullshit, in order to draw your mind, away from the real scenario....Concentration of Global Power, in the hands of a hidden cabal.....

The towelheads are not the enemy-matter a fact, since were using that convenient euphemism, sikhs are pretty cool, non-confrontational cats-

The Hillary is not the enemy, no more than the Booosh, because they are one in the same-
    TOOLS
    PUPPETS
    YES MEN
    BOUGHT AND SOLD

The enemy is a hydra, with many heads connected to the same body.

And all these folks here in denial??? Why they are the confused, who, like you, think they have a chance in hell, without sweeping, complete, and fundamental change. Which means a deconstruction, systematic or otherwise......

The real issue, is attachment to the superficial construct of this world......
fer crissakes man, get at least, near the curve...whenever you pop in, the discussion turns from whatever, to your ravings....and the predictable hecklers, are standing by, to take your order......At least, draw them out with a goal in mind.......
