Nope not at all, You just not liking to look into you leftest mirror.

It is real. Men posing as woman in sports is bananas.

I believe you believe this is real…because you just aren’t very smart but are very prejudiced and intolerant.

Rape charge dropped against USC student after video surfaces

Mordhaus says...

I think that is one of my biggest complaints, the lack of transparency in Title IX complaint investigations and decisions.

The sad thing is, many times it hits both genders. I know Baylor caught some severe flack for Title IX decisions made against female students during the Art Briles controversy/era. Even that was mostly handled internally between the NCAA and Baylor.

We need a better method.

All good points.

And.

What happens in a court of law is subject to the law. Which is not the same as justice.

I stand by my original question -- what did the university know that we don't know?

There are a lot of suppositions in your well reasoned response to my comment.

I have no suppositions. I have questions.

What did the university know that we don't?

Maybe it is nothing, as you suppose here. And maybe those roommates saw or heard something that scared the bejeebers out of them.

Here is a supposition that you did not put forth -- did the roommates only report the encounter as rape because this guy has dark skin? There could be a racist component to this.

Supposition. What are the facts? What information did the university use to justify expelling this dude?

I don't know.

NBA, NCAA and ACC and others pulled out of Carolina because of them being for the below.

They and Roy Cooper are against the HB2 bill that will keep men out of woman's bathrooms and women out of men bathrooms.

All these institutions (FIFA, NCAA, etc.) need to be disbanded or run by elected/appointed representatives that don't get paid and have all proceeds go to the host country/state/town/school.

Yogi says...

This is what they have him doing? He worked to bring the Olympics to London and they've just got him doing PR Bullshit instead of making Stuart Pearce choose him for the team? There's gonna be another tournament catastrophe for England in football, Brazil wasn't even trying in that warm up match, you guys are screwed.

Of course I'm one to talk, we put an NCAA coach in charge and didn't even qualify! Stupid USSoccer.

Makes you wonder about the quality of the MLS. This guy played in the heady heights of the First Division. That's below the Championship which in turn bows to the Premiership.

Actually there's no wondering. I watch the MLS, La Liga, EPL and Bundesliga. The MLS is way below in quality of play of those leagues. It's sort of just an American thing, we've got a lot of speed and power and we know how to build athletes. This game though is a mystery to a lot of American players. Division 1 of the NCAA you'll see some skill, but it's mostly trumped by physical play which carries over into the MLS.

It's not easy to explain, but lets just use a Messi or a Neymar as an example. It's a good chance that they wouldn't even get a chance to shine as kids in the US right now. Because they wouldn't be picked for teams being scrawny and in comparison, slow. Messi is a slow player compared to US players but he's got technical speed...he is fast with the ball GLUED to his foot. Also players like that would look like they're worse than they are because they have NO ONE to play with. It would just be them...being triple teamed and sometimes they'd break free like Neymar in club play or Messi playing for Argentina. But by and large you're playing with a team that you have to play the same level as...so you're not who you were.

An international coach gave me a more simple explanation of what the difference is between the leagues. Look at how a player dribbles the ball, and look at how far they can place it and run onto it while keeping control of it. In the EPL is maybe a couple yards...the more technical players like Suarez would keep it at most a yard from them. La Liga if you watch the most technical players it would be within a foot of them...it's constantly close even when at speed (Messi the ball is either under him or within an inch, he's crazy). The MLS though...the ball is yards away sometimes...and there's still bad and late tackles because players just cannot read the game fast enough.

I'm sorry, but football is becoming a stupid joke. What a stupid fucking rule. Let him celebrate and talk shit. It is football FFS.
Are you afraid your little footieball players are going to get their feelings hurt by his outstretched arms?

Agreed. Hell I'll take it a step further. I'm no longer watching College football until this rule is eliminated. Fuck You NCAA!

More narcissistic than deigning to berate someone on the internet, over an opinion about sport?>> ^Yogi:
I love it when people see a video and try to tell other people they're doing everything wrong. It's probably the most narcissistic viewpoint possible.

No. One is telling people that they're wrong to do what they're doing without knowing a goddamn thing about what they're doing. I spend my time on the internet...I spend a lot of my time here, so I understand it. I doubt you played, coached, or reffed in the NCAA. Sooo yeah I'm commenting about something I know about...being an asshole on the internet...while you are not. I've also reffed played and coached football.

So Fuck Off.

So how come we can't ban lobbying? Wouldn't that be something the people could get behind and completely overwhelm all the corporations? It seems like it would be such an easy sell since it's so anti-democratic.
Is there a genuine upside to lobbying at all?

There are good lobbyists for minorities, safety, social matters. They don't have the funds to compete with the economic cartels.

I would think in the internet age that lobbying is outdated. You don't have to go to the Senator to tell them of your plight, you can start a email-campaign. There are infinite ways now for people to contact senators and for the senators themselves to get information. At the very least there should be a ban on what lobbyists can give legislators similar to the NCAA

Petition to Apply Affirmative Action to the Basketball Team

longde says...

Dude, really, the positive experiences of some east Asian groups does not negate the negative experiences of other visible minorities, nor does it disqualify their claims for justice. There is no zero-sum, or black/white (no pun intended) on this issue.

I'm glad that those asian groups don't experience discrimination or prejudice despite the fact that some come to the table without the required language skills or adequate income. Bully for them. Some of us have fluent and native english skills, and have all the supposed advantages of being in the middle class, yet somehow get passed over.

I also love that fact that you lump all Asian groups together to muddy the issue again. Hmong and Japanese groups have vastly different household income, health outcomes, education levels, discriminatory experiences, and so on. They are not the same in any way, yet you can use extremes in either group to create a distorted picture of the "Asian" experience.

And this video is just ridiculous. Who cares about the fucking NBA/NCAA? Let it all be white and chinese for all I care. That's not what really matters in our society for most people. Aside from the fact that making a jump shot is a direct measure of performance in basketball; no way to manipulate it, either you can or you can't. SAT, GPA, and other measures of so-called "merit" are deeply flawed.

>> ^chilaxe:
Most of what's been said in the comments above this isn't true because Asian Americans outperform Whites, even though Asian Americans are a minority, were very recently more poor than any groups in the US, and had greater language disadvantages than anyone in the US.
All the people in the above comments who support racist discrimination against Asian Americans don't believe in personal accountability and are in favor of a permanently hyper-racialized society. http://videosift.com/poll/Is-discrimination-against-Asian-Americans-in-college-admissions-good-or-bad
This comment could be disproved if you can show that Asian Americans didn't have greater linguistic and financial barriers to overcome than any groups in the US, or that they don't outperform White people.

White People to the Rescue

mgittle says...

@Golgi

I'd be willing to bet that the actual family the story's based on was just trying to get an amazing player for their college team. Was that their only motive? Probably not, but would they have done it anyway? Who knows.

What I do know is, my father was a college football coach for 30 years and he says this kind of thing happens quite frequently, despite any efforts by the NCAA to stop/investigate/discourage it. Plus, all the black people I know hate the "white people to the rescue" message these types of movies send. So, the parody works pretty well IMO.
