Jed Lewison Documents Fox Hypocrisy Over ABC Special

deedub81 says...

You can't just make blanket statements about your opinions and then not back them up with any fact. Saying that broadcasters "have a better ability to see reality" is just a ludicrous statement.

40% of Americans claim to be conservative. Not republican, but conservative. Only 21% identify themselves as liberal. So, life doesn't have a liberal bias. At least America doesn't.
http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2009/06/poll-conservatives-still-largest-ideological-group.html

Higher education does make a person more likely to be a democrat, but that doesn't mean that you've accurately placed cause and effect. Are they a democrat because they have a higher education or did they get a higher education because they are a democrat? Studies about this have less to do with intelligence and more to do with time spent in school. Liberals are the minority, but they are MUCH more likely to be teachers than conservatives (This is most likely not an irrelevant consideration when assigning cause and effect). Thus one might hypothesize that the more time a person spends being instructed by liberals, the more likely they are to be a liberal. Shocked?

Reality has a well known liberal bias. - Stephen Colbert
Media tends to favor the liberals because liberals base their opinions on knowledge. They may be wrong with how they interpret that knowledge, they may be wrong with their choices of what to do about the problems they see, but it is based on reality. And the people who make up the media are mostly well-educated people so they have a better ability to see reality.
Conservatives, in part, base their positions on ignorance and denial. Not always, there are some very valid choices presented as conservative ideals. But the most visible, glaring hypocrisies are based on a false view of the world and history, even recent history. That is the demographic exploited by Faux News, so they don't have to be careful about being consistent. All they have to do is pander to the ignorant and closed minded, and their ratings will be solid.

I don't support torture. Find somewhere on the sift that I said I support torture, and I'll shut up.

I also JUST said that I think any idiot can see that FOX is extremely supportive of the republican party. But, all other media stations have a (much more subtle, but undeniable) liberal bias.

I'm not giving any opinions here. These are facts.

(What "sins" are you talking about, pray tell?)

By the way, I won't argue with you, rougy because you're absolutely right. But don't forget that CBS, ABC, and NBC, cable channels CNN and MSNBC, as well as major newspapers, news-wires, and radio outlets, especially CBS News, Newsweek, and the New York Times are the Democratic Party's propaganda outlets.
.
You have no fucking clue.
You don't have the synapses to tell up from down unless somebody was standing there giving you hints.
You know, deedub, we might actually like each other in real life, but you just don't get it.
Innocent people were tortured - yes tortured - and you supported that.
What did that make us, deedub? You and me, the Americans?
It's not a laughing matter, and your claim above...that basically every mainstream "news" source other than FOX NEWS is a liberal propaganda machine....
You are not paying attention, deedub.
You are lying to yourself and nothing that I say will sway you hither.

Well, at first I thought this was ridiculous, then I realized, Fox News didn't spend an hour about one issue that President Bush was trying to push.

So Fox never beat the drums calling for war in Iraq?

Supposedly ABC is just televising a town hall meeting Obama's holding to discuss health care.

We'll see how handpicked the questions are, but I suspect they will spend a good portion of the time responding to the criticism we're hearing from Republicans.

There, I said the obvious again.

A 2002 study by Jim A. Kuypers of Dartmouth College, Press Bias and Politics, investigated the issue of media bias. In this study of 116 mainstream US papers, including The New York Times, the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle, Kuypers found that the mainstream press in America tends to favor liberal viewpoints. They found that reporters expressing moderate or conservative points of view were often labeled as holding a minority point of view. Kuypers said he found liberal bias in reporting a variety of issues including race, welfare reform, environmental protection, and gun control.

In a survey conducted by the American Society of Newspaper Editors in 1997, 61% of reporters stated that they were members of or shared the beliefs of the Democratic Party. Only 15% say their beliefs were best represented by the Republican Party. This leaves 24% undecided or Independent.

John McCain's Domestic Terrorism Problem

joedirt says...

I don't mind actual attack ads, but this one is soooo flimsy. It's like McCain saying sex ed fund = kindergarten pornography. It's just stupid.

How can you extrapolate the existance of abortion clinic shooters in the 90s to McCain's two votes. What else is in that bill? Was it going to pass anyways? Would a stupid bill that probably restricted freedoms prevent someone from shooting a doctor?

We already have laws. Probably federal laws. WTF does passing more laws ABOUT SHOOTING PEOPLE matter? Just enforce existing laws. So McCain voting NO was a butterfly effect that rippled through extremist groups and caused the shooting... huh? If you actually think there is any validity to this ad, please, please take a long look in the Hope mirror and ask yourself what the ponies and unicorn dreams have done to you. Imagine McCain put out this ad. And if you are a proponent of The Big Lie then fine. If you think this is part of a lie strategy that Obama will repeat often enough until it becomes true than fine. As it is, it's a lame sad lie.

Anyways Jed Lewison is the lowest dirty tricks arm of the Obama 527 web coalition. We have enough Rove's and don't need another wannabe who was ex-Hill staffer.

You beat me netrunner.

My title was "Pathetic smear attack ad put out by Obama's 527".

This is the most dishonest *lie and pathetic weak attack ad I've ever seen. Jed Lewison is a total douchebag and must be getting paid quite a bit under the table from Obama's campaign.

You should change the title.

McCain voted against some bill in 1993... 15 years ago and somehow that means that some abortion shooter nutjob is connected to McCain.
Totally pathetic. If Obama lies in mud I hope he gets HPV from this low-life retard approach.
