Denmark has a lesson for us all

transmorpher says...

Synthol injections. It hardens in-between the muscle fibers to separate them and make your arms look bigger. It's dangerous, and does not increase strength or muscle tissue size.

It's basically breast implants for men. So yes, just like you said, they don't seem real because they aren't

ok, WTF is wrong with that dude's arms? They don't seem real.

No, I agree @newtboy, no one likes a mouth full of hair. I prefer to only floss twice a day!!

I have been with both women and men where there is so much of it you almost need a weed whacker to find the goods. I have heard women say they feel like a pre-pubescent girl when it is all gone. I prefer a happy medium, or as us ladies put it, shave the undercarriage and trim the hood. If I had any musical talent at all, I could write my own rebuttal song!

It is interesting that you brought up guys who manscape...I never thought about it making them look like pre-pubescent boys. Most gents I know who do say it makes the "package" look bigger. I think balls just look better without hair, but that is just my opinion, since I find them such a weird and intriguing part of the male anatomy.

To each their own, but keep in mind, no one enjoys a mouth full of hair.

EDIT: I do wish to say, about the 'looks like an 8 year old' thing, and I only mention it because I have heard some women say that men who like a clean shave are pedophiles....most men have not seen many pre-pubescent naked vaginas, so the implication by some that they want their women to look like little girls is misguided. I wonder, do they think the same thing about men who shave their balls and the women who like that?

Penn & Teller's Helium Bag Escape Trick

kceaton1 says...

Yeah, they used some very easy method to pull this off, no matter which way they did it. I can think of a few ways to do it. It's made incredibly easy to do, as well, due to the fact that Teller is allowed to get in it first and also that the bag never leaves it's origin (at the setup anyway--it doesn't matter after Teller is out).

I would use the "bag within a bag" type setup. Essentially when Teller gets in, there is already an opening at the bottom (with the stage sitting right there). Teller is standing on the stage, basically. With the second hole pulled up past him and cinched shut once Penn closes the other end (stopping helium from getting out).

Then they flash out the lights, and Teller merely pushes the bag off him, and making sure to cinch any slack off the bottom so it doesn't "droop" or look bigger than it should--if that was even needed (as they may have put a mild adhesive on the ground to keep the bag in place; Teller can also do it, but it's easier the other way).

It does make for a nice illusion.

He was never inside the bag, it was wrapped around him.
Afterwards it wasn't as filled as much as before the lights out.

Choggie's Eggdilla

chingalera says...

@ 5:47 was white then black pepper, and the eggs are x-large but prolly look bigger from the placement of the camera...low heat on the skillet so they cooked slowly enough sunny-side-up for the whites to fully solidify on top from steam coming off the tomato-puree

Possible New Species of Spider Builds Decoys of Itself

cosmovitelli says...

Yeah its strange.. usually when things make themselves look bigger its to scare off a predator or another of the same species ( like cats). But its hard to see how they're not screwing up the whole point of using a web in the first place.. maybe evolution gone crazy like those mad birds..

Isn't the premise of a web that it is invisible to prey? Why would a small spider create a false large spider, would that not defeat the purpose? I await with interest the explanation. Until then, I will name it the "big ego" spider.

Don't Think My New Butt is Supposed to Look Like This!!

Sagemind says...

Wha...,
She put implants in her but to make it fatter and make it look bigger????
I'm sorry, I have no sympathy for this person.
Even with the implant, turned the right way around, her but looks horrifyingly gross. This is not an improvement.

10 tips for UFO enthusiasts:

1. There's 8 billion people on the planet. Now and then some of them put something in the sky.
2. There's an almost infinite or infinite amount of stuff in space. Now and them some of it falls into the sky.
3. Things look bigger when they're closer.
4. Light can have some weird effects on cameras.
5. If it's light enough, the wind will pick it up.
6. If it's shiny enough, it will reflect light.
7. Anyone can play a creepy soundtrack in the background.
8. You're probably not an expert on solar activity.
9. Insects don't give a shit what they look like to you.
10. UFO videos are badly filmed. This may be because in all the good quality ones the flying object was identified.

Sixty Symbols - How Do 3D Glasses Work

deathcow says...

I have never seen any 3D TV experience that "worked" for me. When its 1080P per eye at 60 fps per eye, we'll be there.

My experience comes from using telescopes. Even though there is one lens, casting one image cone, when you use a binoviewer several things happen. 1) everything looks bigger, though its the same size.. this is reported over and over again by people. 2) low contrast high resolution details are easier to see, even though its the same image per eye. 3) problems you have with one eye are diminished, especially floaters in your eyes just fade away.

Now they are coming out with 3D TV which require no glasses at all, but unless they can pump the signal rate up it still will fall short for me.

Corporations slimming portions, charging same price.

Sagemind says...

I agree with the intent of this video.

Like everyone, I don't want my food prices to go up BUT if they go up, I see the difference and adjust my grocery accordingly. Most people would never notice the package size difference, especially if the package shape is designed to actually look bigger. The fact is, they don't want the consumer to notice so they hide/disguise the idea of the package decrease. Completely dishonest in my opinion. If the commodity price goes up, reflect the price in the product so the consumer can be aware and make purposeful decisions on their product shopping.

I have been very aware of this lately. Here are some examples:

1). Chocolate bars - The new trend is to offer "Slim" chocolate bars (you know, for people who want a more controlled portion size). These chocolate bars sell at the same price as a normal bar but is half the bar.

2). Chocolate Bars again - The other day, I went out to buy a 4-pack of bars (4 family members) at Wal-mart, they were $2.50 for a bag/package. but when I looked at the weights. some brands of bars drastically less. Snickers won the heaviest at about 4.2 while some packs weighed as little as 1.8 - Less product, same price. http://videosift.com/video/Mars-Bar-11-6-Downsize AND http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30wsqtiBrVw

3) Restaurants - The Big Mac is roughly half the size it used to be, McDonalds has taken it's "BIG" burger and transformed it into the Lil' Mac - http://videosift.com/video/I-Want-My-BIG-MAC-Back-Super-Shrink-Me

4). Have you been for a Banana Split lately at Dairy Queen? What used to be the headliner treat and the biggest Sunday around has become a joke! The banana split still has three blobs of ice-cream ice-milk with a banana but the toppings have been drastically reduced to a table-spoon of topping on each blob, not even enough to cover the Ice cream.Slightly enemic on the toppings - if you ask for a little extra, be prepared to ad a couple more dollars to the already to high of a price $4.50

Of course, this is in every product - since I do the shopping for my family, I always look at size and weight. Normally, the "Brand Name" always has the smaller package/higher price, while generic and store brands almost always end up the better deal.
