Captain America: Civil War - Super Bowl 50 Teaser

1st Trailer for Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War”

moonsammy says...

If you like any of the Marvel movies, do yourself a favor and see Winter Soldier, it will answer your question in spades. Some important aspects of it have been spoiled by your having watched this trailer, but it's an *excellent* movie. I'd put it in my top 3 or 4 Marvel flicks, along with Iron Man 1, Avengers 1, and Guardians. I didn't like the first Captain America movie, but Winter Soldier is a whole different animal, vastly superior in my opinion.

Why Do Action Scenes Suck?

worthwords says...

meh. i don't think they actually added much. The scene with the hulk vs iron man was not believable, enjoyable - it was just another crappy action scene in a poorly constructed very unenjoyable movie.
saving ryan's privates is a good example of a difficult to watch scene because it wasn't filmed by a drone, it was filmed largely from the POV of being on the ground - as it was plausible and horrific it was a very upsetting and memorable scene. How can you really give a shit about superhero who are immortal kicking the shit out of a tin of metal.

Flying Whales

poolcleaner says...

Metal is inherently misanthropic. In a fun way, not a serious murdery way. Like the story of Sabbath's Iron Man or Norwegian black metal songs about demons overthrowing heaven, raping angels, and then reigning over earth. It's mostly shocking and funny. Then there's Babymetal, which is still misanthropic in sound but cute in their display. I posit a similar effect is occurring.

I think it had more to do with the metal song with a simple and clear message about whales.

I'm sad to say I laughed when the Asian lady couldn't give a shit about Iron Man, but freaked out when it was actually Iron Patriot.

RDJ helps give a kid a bionic arm

Asmo says...

This line of commentary is not dissimilar to various complaints about RDJ in the original YouTube.

Which kinda misses the nunace that RDJ really has only two things to bring to the table in terms of helping out with the bionic arm program. Celebrity and the attention it brings, and cash...

He could be a silent partner and quietly fund the guy actually building the arms (which is laudable), or he could use his celebrity as a vehicle to build awareness as well.

Now, thanks to him giving up a little of his time, a kid not only get's a kick ass bionic arm but he get's to talk to the guy that plays Iron Man (even though he understands it's not him), and the video goes viral. Even the conversation over RDJ self promoting vs helping out prolongs the exposure of the real hero here, the guy building the arms.

Even if people spent the time to look for programs like this, they wouldn't see even a fraction of the good work that is happening. Having a star use their fame to promote a great cause is a way of getting it noticed. I fail to see a downside, and further, challenge the people griping about it to try and promote a charity or organisation they feel are deserving without star power and see how well it goes.

I'm sure, however, that you could fund an arm for someone. Even lacking celebrity, you could change a life. Do you need cameras to be present before you do a good thing? \= )

Hey! I want to give a kid a bionic arm! That would be amazing to witness, when's my turn. Oh, wait, no cameras following me. Shucks.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - New Trailer

Ant-Man – Official Trailer

Lilithia says...

I hope they'll include some flashbacks telling the origin story of the original Ant-Man. This would enable them to tell Hank Pym's origin story in flashbacks while simultaneously moving forward with the possibly more relatable (to the audience) newer version of the superhero.

Also, showing a highly intelligent scientist building a suit that enables him to become a superhero could be too reminiscent of the Iron Man origin story. A superhero introducing his successor to the job is something the Marvel films haven't done so far.

Mekanikal said:

I thought it should be about Hank Pym too. I never followed Ant-Man but if they are attempting to silver screen a relatively unknown Avenger, shouldn't it be some kind of origin story? Telling how Hank created his particle that allows Ant-Man? This almost seems like it should be an Ant-Man 2. Jumping this far ahead in the story seems to alienate people who don't know anything about this hero.

Ozzy Osbourne on Health, Drugs, and the Age of Computers

ChaosEngine says...

I hate that fucking TV show so much.

Ozzy was always a messed up shambles, but it didn't matter, because he was Ozzy Fucking Osbourne, godfather of metal and writer of War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man and about a million other amazing songs. He was our* messed up shambles.

Now? He's been appropriated into wider culture, most of whom know nothing about the immense cultural contribution he's made to music.

Don't get me wrong; I'm glad he got clean and I hope he's happy with where he is, but it genuinely saddens me that he'll be remembered as that shambolic old guy who yells "Sharon!" while trying to work an over complicated TV remote.

* our = metal fans.
