Instantly See Which Side of Your Car the Gas Tank Is On

xxovercastxx says...

My current car is a 2013 Jetta but I realized from that photo you linked to that I am looking in the wrong place. In the video, I got the impression they were showing the low fuel warning light and I saw nothing when I looked at mine. The little icon on the gauge itself does have a triangle pointing to the right, however.

I searched for gauge cluster pics of my prior VWs (2003 Golf and 2000 Beetle) and they did not have the icon. My mom's Ford probably does have it and I never noticed. My dad's Toyota might be just a year or two too old.

The rest were definitely too old. It looks like this is something that's been added in the last 5 years for most of these makes.

My 2006 Mazda 6 has it, and so does every other recent car I've driven.

I don't remember my 1976 Corolla having an arrow though, and images from the 70s don't show it either.

This image from a 2006 Camry shows the arrow pointing to the side the fuel hose goes - http://goo.gl/fa9dxx so maybe it's only in the last 10 years? Is your car older than that?

Time to start thinking about a song and icon/badge-thingy.. (Sift Talk Post)

Holy. Cow.

Never did I think someone could go from being banned as a blankfist sockpuppet to a Galaxy Star member (and in only 2.75 years)!

Congratulations!!! @dag is going to have to write and perform something special and we'll need to get you some custom icons!

Thanks for all your contributions, @PlayhousePals. You know you're one of this community's favorite pillars of sift!

How bout it gets marked dead cuz its NOT WORKING NOW (i cant see the video) and YOU keep checking back till its up and going again. Then you can notdead it.

and like i said THIS wasn't what i saw when i marked it dead. If it had been i wouldnt have marked it dead. It said nothing regarding anything just a grey screen with some stupid "im broken" looking icon.

You assume this was the message i saw when i deaded your video. It was not. It was a grey screen with some funky computer im broken icon. And the reason i recall this is because i though t it odd i had deaded it earlier in the week . Then you had fixed it and it ended up dead again. So it stood out to me.

The msg its now showing IS NOT what i saw when i deaded your video.

And to expend on it for a bit, in order for them to use the iconic Tiger, a scenario with plenty of entrenched infantry is much more appropriate than any mobility-based warfare. Great tool to force a breakthrough, even greater tool to prevent a breakthrough.

For instance, the handful of combat ready Tigers deployed with the 502nd during the battles around Lake Ladoga in '43 were used almost exlusively in two roles: either to strengthen entrenched friendly infantry against attacking armor or to throw Soviet infantry out of trenches seized in previous assaults.

The entire area of operations around Leningrad, including the supply lines around Lake Ladoga, was one big trench warfare, with massive use of artillery. Armoured spearheads only enabled the following infantry to advance from one line of trenches to the next. Extensive breakthroughs and large scale encirclements were only possible in the steppes further south. The marshes and dense forests up north reduced everything to a meat grinder.

great CG, decent kid acting, I would see the full length version if they make one.

Only complaint was the aliens sound design - was way too much like the Predator, which is so iconic, it automatically conveys malevolence. I'd prefer to hear something more original for this creature.

Either through poor translation or clever titling, I was expecting him to get away and was pleaseantly surprised! (Maybe you can tell from my icon I'm a two-wheeled aficionado; keep it safe people.)

Space Needle Aerial Footage

PlayhousePals says...

*dead removed by user ... guess he got discovered. From King 5 News in Seattle July 24, 2014:

Seattle's iconic Space Needle is still standing after police received reports of a drone crash at the popular tourist attraction Tuesday night.

The Seattle Police Department Blotter says witnesses reported seeing a small drone buzz around the top of the Space Needle and possibly crash into an observation deck window. Witnesses said the drone - described as a white quad-propeller unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a camera - then glided to a nearby hotel, where it landed inside a fifth floor room.

Police said no damage was found at the Space Needle.

Investigators tracked the drone to a guest staying at the hotel. The man told police he flew his drone past the Needle, but claims it didn't hit anything. He showed video from the drone's flight, which showed people waving from the observation deck but no collision into the Needle.

The man told police he was an Amazon employee visiting from out of state and had bought the drone at a hobby shop. After police educated the man about Seattle's recent drone-related controversies, the guest agreed to not fly his drone again during his visit to Seattle.

It could also potentially be the non supercharged RR "Meteor" version they made for tanks. In fact it's quite likely as they are easier to get hold of these days, Merlins are like rocking horse shit to find now as they are so iconic and sough after (air racers are partly to blame).

Griffons are noticeably longer but it's hard to say without a size reference or a shot of the naked engine. I'm inclined to agree and say no though, if nothing else a good Griffon is probably even harder to find than a Merlin.

Whichever version it's still about the most fking awesome engine ever made! Nothing sounds quite like them, even the top German stuff. Such a shame they can't/won't make them anymore, I'm sure there's a big market .

Merlin, right? Looks too small to be a Griffon...
