Standing against those that defend Hamas and Hezbollah, or who refuse to condemn them is the moral high ground, with nothing false about it. You need people to stand up for the cause of Palestinian and Jewish civilians in the region, and that means standing against those that have sworn their life's purpose as the extermination of either.

I think you're putting words in my mouth. When did I talk about Jews or imply what this young woman said was right?

I am simply pointing out how much extremism that we, including Horowitz, are willing to ignore or rationalize.

You're oversimplifying. I'm an American born Jew, I don't support many of Israel's policies and will openly criticize them.. One does not have to support Israel to be a Jew in the same way one does not have to support Hamas and Hezbollah to be a Muslim.
Horowitz understands the distinction.

Big up vote from me.

I'm waiting for all the defenders of Hamas and Hezbollah on the sift here to come charging in to the student's defense. This conversation and debate needs to be repeated the world over, again and again until people can no longer claim ignorance as a defense.

His analysis of the situation between Israel and Lebanon is pretty accurate. I don't agree with his view that Hezbollah is merely defensive and Israel is the sole provocateur, but it's certainly debatable.

Also, while true, I don't really see how that link is related to this video, @marinara.

His views are not so easily rendered in any one light. I have a fair amount of respect for him though. He went into Israel during the whole Hezbollah thing, and when he came back the "Mel Gibson hates jews" things was the top order of the day. As they transitioned to black, he muttered something to the effect of "Ya, there is a war going on and people are dying, but lets talk about Mel Gibson, that's important". It was so sarcastic that I can't convey it in text

Countries like the Israel and the US will obviously have contingency plans for invading Iran. Yes, there are double standards when it comes to nuclear wars. No, the US will never willingly invade Iran, they may be forced into involvement if Israel takes the plunge though. The impact of Iran blocking off the Strait of Hormuz, of the damage it could do with terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah would be far more destabilizing than the regional dominance that Iran would gain and the very far fetched idea it would ever consider handing over the nuclear weapons it is quite clearly aiming to develop.

Here is one reason people believe it is directed at Israel. That Iranian made missiles have been used against Israel by Hezbollah might be another tiny hint.

I think the worry is not so much about Iran using a nuke but Iran selling a nuke to one of the terrorist groups it's been friendly with (like Hamas or Hezbollah). I wonder what Reza thinks about that.
