Talking of which, the new Ghostbusters movie released in the UK today, I wonder if I'm going to be disappointed by my cinema outing this weekend? At least they've got most of the original gang back, hopefully trigger some nostalgia highs!

This is possibly stupid and uniformed fun, it might even be slightly malicious fun, but there is present an element of making fun of ideology that goes too far.

You're entirely welcome! I was curious, and rather shocked at how good of a month that was for movies. I don't know that I was previously aware Ghostbusters and Gremlins came out on the same damned day...

It confuses me that this movie isn't better-known. Having just looked at the other releases* the month it came out I can completely understand it not being a theatrical success, but it should have caught on via home rental. Nope! Always had a cult following, never anything beyond that.

*First week of June 1984: Star Trek III. Second week, Gremlins and Ghostbusters (yes, on the same day). Third week was dead, but the 4th saw not just Top Secret! but also The Karate Kid. The next week was Bachelor Party, Conan the Destroyer, and Cannonball Run II. I don't think Top Secret! stood a chance.
